Duva is trying to put the fight on HBO, regardless of what they offer (could be $1m-$3m, or whatever HBO is willing to spend).

Michel has no issue with fighting on HBO; he simply wants to put the fight on whatever network is willing to put the most money possible into the pot for the fighters (Showtime puts up $2m, HBO puts up $3m, and CBS puts up $6m, Michel would be inclined to put the fight on CBS).

How is that not a fair deal? Put the fight in whatever venue that brings in the most money, secure the most lucrative Canadian rights deal, go with whatever sponsors put up the most money, secure the best international TV rights deals possible, and maximize the money to be brought in from US TV revenue.

How is this hurting Duva? GYM is more than willing an open to running a full co-promotional effort with Main Events; his only hang-up is that he wants GYM/Main Events, together, to chase down the most money available for the fight, from wherever it'd come from.

The fight will be on PPV in Canada, but in every other market, it'll likely be secured via TV rights fee.

BoxNation vs Sky Sports in the UK, Televisa vs TV Azteca in Mexico, and HBO vs Showtime/NBC/ESPN/CBS/Spike/etc in the US, among other competing TV deals worldwide.

Why would GYM ever cap their US Tv rights revenue at the $2m-$3m that HBO is probably going to offer, without going into the open market and seeing the actual value for the fight?
