Is Kovalev scared of power punchers?

I agree with you but Kov has spent the better part of 18 months calling Stevenson all kinds of names. Piece of **** as I recall. Well when you do that, have your manager negotiate with HBO that they allow him to make the Stevenson fight.HBO isn't going to let the fight happen unless it's on HBO. Kovalev is smart enough to know that. He's about to sign another multi fight contract with them. He's not going to make any waves to jeopardize that. He probably just went along because that's the right thing to do.
This is why I blame him and Duva. Kov knows this, so he shouldn't have agreed to let duva ask WBC to make him the mando.Comment

That's a fair point.Comment

Holy sweet Jesus wtf did I just read? Dude, you're ****ing reaching. Dropping your hands after getting hit to the body is almost an instinct move. And holy **** a head snapping back from getting punched. Who would had thought that? And lol @ dropping back. Well, no ****. Do you want everyone to be a Rios or Maragarito and keep coming? How long have you been watching boxing? What the hell is wrong with you? Lol....You can tell Kovlaev doesn't respond to getting hit well just by looking at him get hit, what do you think is going to happen against a much harder puncher? When he gets tagged to the body he drops his hands and backs up, when he gets hit to the head his head snaps back and he starts to back up, and he has a history of getting rocked/dropped. His defense isn't very good either, his offense is his defense.
Wilder becoming a champ pretty much proved my point, that's sad too, one of our bottom of the barrel athletes competing with the elite, shows the depth of talent in these sports lmao.Comment

I don't think he's scared... But neither Duva or HBO would like that to happen...

...A cleanly landed turn-off-the-lights one hit wonder is always possible with Stevenson...Even more of a possibility then from Kovalev who likes to wear out his opponents... And that is a scary probability worth thinking about ...Last edited by Superbee; 04-15-2015, 01:45 PM.Comment

Why cant the fight be on showtime? Michel said if they were to lose the bid they would fight at hbo no problem.HBO isn't going to let the fight happen unless it's on HBO. Because HBO doesn't want it therefore Main Events has to comply. Well they don't have to but it wouldn't be smart business to start fussing. Duva has other fighters and can't afford to be black balled.Comment

You don't need to be a great athlete to be a great boxer. And just because somebody is a great athlete doesn't necessarily mean they would be anything more than a journeyman if they took up boxing. You can tell Kovlaev doesn't respond to getting hit well just by looking at him get hit, what do you think is going to happen against a much harder puncher? And has Wilder competed with the elite? His best wins are Scott, who was coming off a KO defeat to Chisora, and Stiverne, who had himself been KO'd by a journeyman and who had never beaten anybody better than Arreola.
As for Kovalev being scared of Stevenson - if that was the case, why was he so keen to fight him last year? And why would Duva have applied for Krusher to made mandatory by the WBC if they didn't want the fight?
Clearly, she stuffed up there, by not anticipating that GYM would ask for a purse bid, but that doesn't mean Kovalev is scared of Superduck's power.Comment
