I guess so Kov could beat stevenson and win the lineal title and all the belts as he has been saying for the last year to 18 months.

When she made this request Kov had the HBO deal and Stevenson was on SHowtime. He is also managed by Haymon. There is no way anyone thought there wouldn't be a purse bid. Most posters even rejoiced about that fact because they felt it prevented Stevenson from running away again.

Kathy asked to be mandatory then decided not to be. You can argue they wanted it then You simply can't argue that now.

I'm trying to understand the Kovalevtard's logic. How does it make sense for Team Kovalev to ASK for mandatory status, get what they ASKED for, then play dumb when the fight goes to purse bid?

HBO is not going to release one of their biggest fighters to fight on another network during this period of network competition. Ain't gonna happen. Like everyone like to say about Haymon, it's business. Well it works both ways.

As for Haymon and 'his' fighters, he has no fighters, the fighters have an advisor. Haymon is not a promoter and does not pay the fighters, he is a manager/advisor and fighters pay him for his services. Like a trainer, an advisor works for the fighter - the fighter does not work for the advisor. The guy is a walking Ali Act violation and it is well past time something is done about him.

HBO has 2 choices here. 1- Not have the fight. 2 - Have the fight and pay the fighters well for it. They dont want option 2. They could live with option 1. Like you said its business. We as fans were hard on Stevenson when he chose to do business. Kovalev deserves the same level of scorn now.

2nd, when you say Haymon has no fighters... you only think like that because you are used to promoters ruling the boxing world. Haymon can invest with any promoter he wants to. He isnt responsible for HBO, Duva and Kovalev taking their ball and going home. They are grown adults who make their own decisions.

only way I know of that kova vs stevenson could be on hbo is if Main Events won the purse bid and duva is basically saying they dont have the funds to beat Haymons bid

Kov is one of NSB's favorites so I don't expect to see equal treatment from posters that killed stevenson since he is not well liked since he signed with Haymon.

Fight should've been made when they were both fighting on HBO. I don't think Kovalev even cares about Aducknis anymore. That ship sailed. He still wants the green belt though to add to his collection, whoever ends up with it after Aducknis loses it, even though he only fights bums.
