I don't know why you're kidding yourself. The "lineal champ" means nothing at 175 after Adonis shamefully ducked Kovalev only to proceed to fight Andrezj Fonfara, a Russian sky diver named Dmitry Sukhotzky and a career 168lb caveman Sakio Bika.

    Stop playing games, Dunn.

My position is being able to tell you this..... The fight WILL happen. If it doesn't its on Haymon. Kovalev is on the phones with Duva right now actually and LIVID that she made this decision without his consent
LMFAO!!! First off, we both know Duva had to run this by Kov and his team. So you can save the I want the fight stuff for someone else.

Yes, Stevenson avoided the fight then. Kov is avoiding the fight now. Apparently, Stevenson beating up the sky diver and the caveman has duva/kov shook.

After everything she did to then pull this. HAHAHAHAHA. You, nelson and everyone else need to keep it 100. WHen Haymon got Stevenson a deal, you called Stevenson a duck and Haymon any number of things. I would hope you do the same here for Kov and Duva.

If you do not, be careful. The SDF is watching!!!

    • Funny that everybody see now that politics is the name of the game... Duva and ME are just an undercard in the realm of boxing... Stevenson never ducked Kovalev for the simple reason that he went for the $$$. And despite Kovalev being already a King Pin at the time he didn't bring the numbers... Duva is running out of rabbits to pull out of the hat and reality will strike her bad when Kovalev decides to leave her behind for his best interests... I think the fight will still happen...

      • There was no 80/20 split in this proposed bid. WBC set it at a 50/50 split.

The problem with Duva saying that going to HBO for 50/50 would be the same thing...is that...the money would be drastically less.

Say HBO gets INSANE and offers 3 or 4 million (something they would NEVER do)...but humor me here. That would mean the fighter camps split the revenue 1.5 or 2 million each.

Now say Haymon comes in with a bid upwards of 10 million...thus giving each camp 5 million. Basic math people...

WHY in the world would you avoid that for "loyalty" to a network. This is the boxing business. Anything can happen. There is no "loyalty." Ask Bute about his 3 fight SHO deal and how well that went after losing.

Loyalty to networks is BS. If Kovalev somehow lost a fight to a guy like Mohammedi, you can be sure that HBO would drop his ass in a second.

First of all.... you're wrong with one key detail and that's that while Duva pulled out of the Purse bid, she made a counter offer. She didn't come out and say "sorry, no purse bid... we don't want the fight, have a good night."

She made a counter offer (one that isn't even a bad deal to begin with. 50/50 on HBO PPV) Haymon could very well allow his fighter ONE fight on HBO so they can get this over with but he doesn't want to so there's your second problem. Haymon still has something to do with this.

Third of all.... With everything I just said, if you think this situation is even REMOTELY close to November of 2013...... then lol. I know you don't think that because you're not ******, so lets just leave it at that. DUVA rejected a purse bid (was it the right move? I don't know, all I know is she better make this **** happen. that's all I care about) BUT made a counter offer to still try and make the fight happen.

Whereas, Stevenson pulled out of the fight and there were no counter offers. He straight up ducked Kovalev.. So how the hell can the situations be even in the same planet? Kovalev is not ducking Adonis (LOL) they sent a counter offer and she clearly said "lets negotiate," you can't just say someone's ducking because they didn't "try to set up a fight the way you want it," as a fan. Stop being ridiculous

So.... no. I'm keeping it 100 by saying the situations aren't even close. Adonis and Haymon DID infact duck Kovalev in 2013, there's no denying it. Duva and Kovalev are STILL trying to make the fight, after simply rejecting the purse bid (again, why? I don't know).... not a duck. And No. Sergey Kovalev is absolutely not avoiding the fight now. Stop trying to make it seem like Sergey is ducking because Adonis already ducked him, for "payback" for SDF's chief ducker duck.

          Thanks.

Very interesting. Do you have a source for the WBC ordered 50/50 split? If true Duva looks worse than I thought.

KIng man, be straight up. The counter offer is a BS face saving move. She asked for the purse bid, then pulled out. To inculpate Haymon in this is ridiculous dude.

Your 2nd and 3rd paragraphs are utterly embarrassing and insulting. You can cling to the counter offer if you wish. All that does is kill your credibility. Duva is the one who wants things her way but because doesn't want to spend the money to do so.

I feel bad for you, almost as much as I do Bojangles. Kov and Duva really let all of his fans down with this. Guys like you who rode with them hard. I get that it's difficult to understand what happened.

KOv is no different than Adonis even though the situations are not exactly similar. A quarterback and a punter don't do the same thing, but they are both football players.

Had the fight gone to the bid, the fighters would have split the winning figure 50-50 and the winning promoter would control all aspects of the promotion, including all the revenue ******s and determining when, where and on what television network the bout would take..........
