Your 2nd and 3rd paragraphs are utterly embarrassing and insulting. You can cling to the counter offer if you wish. All that does is kill your credibility. Duva is the one who wants things her way but because doesn't want to spend the money to do so.

I feel bad for you, almost as much as I do Bojangles. Kov and Duva really let all of his fans down with this. Guys like you who rode with them hard. I get that it's difficult to understand what happened.

KOv is no different than Adonis even though the situations are not exactly similar. A quarterback and a punter don't do the same thing, but they are both football players.
Okay then it's 10000% Kathy Duva's fault and not Kovalev.

He wants the fight. He wants the fight..... right? Right?

Well **** Duva. Shame on her. She's to blame now that it seems as if the fight has fallen through. That was the most anticipated fight bar pac-May for many years.

        • Hardly unexpected, HBO were always going to be reluctant and Main Events don't exactly have a solid history with Haymon having been pushed off NBC.

Kovalev washes Stevenson, so while a disappointment, that's not the biggest disappointment for me. The biggest disappointment is this new Cold War rules out Kovalev fighting Beterbiev, Alvarez as well as Stevenson. Kovalev's going to struggle for good opponents which is a ****ty state of affairs that has ruined the LHW division.

You can't argue he wants the fight because Duva wouldn't have done this without notifying Kov and his team. Come on King, I get you like Kov but you set your own precedent here.

You never gave Stevenson the benefit of the doubt. You killed him (rightfully so)and Haymon. I expect you to do the same here.

You ran with terms like "Aduckis" or "Duckinson". I just hope you are man enough to use "Duckey" and "Quackalev" the same way.

            • Also, even going back to 2013...this was 2nd biggest fight to be made in boxing behind May/Pac. (I know, I know...maybe any combination of Cotto/GGG/Canelo or GGG/Froch/Ward/Chavez could be big too...but again...humor me)

IF it's the second biggest fight to be made only behind May/Pac and you're Adonis and Sergey...wouldn't you both say to each other..."you know what? If the world wants this so bad...why should we take a basic HBO fight fee of just over a million?"

In this case, you can do two things...

              1. You let the fight "marinate" and build it to where a network like HBO invests more given the demand you build over time.

              or

              2. You shop the fight around to other places to maximize your profits.

Yvon and Haymon were smart. They did BOTH of these things. They had faith in Adonis to keep him in stay-busy fights (it's boxing remember...anything can happen) knowing that a Kovalev fight will still be there.

They rolled with the punches and waited for Duva to make her move, and when she did, they took it upon themselves to get together the biggest bid in history according to Yvon (check his twitter feed). This then means it can go a network that brings in the most money. In this case, it would be one of the Haymon affiliated networks.

Doing this was genius, rather than doing the bull**** Lame Events business plan of just keeping Kovalev in against guys for the basic HBO money. Kovalev had to go anywhere...Hopkins in AC for less than a million. He had to go to Pascal to get a pay day. He really has no leverage at all.

Duva is sticking by the same bull**** that has ruined boxing for years. Taking site and network fees to put her fighters in situations where they can never cross over. And now she's preventing Kovalev's biggest payday.

Beterbiev in under ten fights is making close to what Kovalev is making now!!! That's the power of creativity, Haymon, GYM, and the Québec market.

Can't push all this on Duva without getting at Kovalev as well. Bat there is no way she did this without talking to Kov and his team first. I know it's hard to admit that, but deep down you know.

You already tried that shit 2 months ago with the drug testing stuff vs Pascal, you'll get embarassed again.

Such a load of nonsense. Fight would've been made 3x over already if it were down to Duva.

Stevenson ducked Kovalev, Hopkins and Pascal, he's fighting cans regularly while Kovalev is taking out the best.

Michel wasn't happy about the WBC making Kovalev mandatory, and has expressed as much in writing and I believe they called the bid early in the knowledge that Haymon would win the bid and HBO/Main Events would pull Kovalev out. Their gamble worked, the Kovalev problem has gone away, the Chilemba one likely won't go away quite so easily.

Stevenson can go on looking average fighting cans, drawing low viewers numbers while being massively overpaid. Whoop de doo, fans gain nothing.
