He did nothing in the first half but neither did Garcia. Lamont was pulling a Sugar Ray vs Duran II and just toying with Garcia but not really fighting, while Garcia was swinging at air and not really hitting anything.

In my opinion, nobody won those early rounds, so what did Danny do to win them?

Danny Garcia won this fight, it was fairly easy to score. I had it exactly how all 3 judges had it through 7, with Garcia up 6-1 with Peterson only winning the 4th round barely. Petersons game plan was to run in the beginning, the only problem is he wasn't making Danny Garcia pay for missing, he was simply dodging most of the shots and throwing a jab here or there, some of which scored and some didn't. Danny was hitting Lamont quite frequently with some pretty good power shots. Danny will get murdered by someone like pacquiao or Terance Crawford, but I can see him beating some mid level opposition at welterweight, I mean he did Ko amir khan not too long ago and now khan is considered one of the best at 147. I think Danny needs to work on his speed and footwork, because he has the power and chin and knows how to utilize distance very good. His defense is pretty tight. He ****** at cutting off the ring on Peterson, maybe he needs a new trainer like Freddie roach, I think someone like roach teaching Garcia would be perfect

Maybe nobody deserves to win those rounds but u have to score them for someone and honestly, I didn't give them to Lamont. Peterson ran and did nothing while danny at least applied pressure but did nothing. Lol

What fight were you watching? Peterson was running and jabbing, which most of the jabs missed, and Danny used an in and out style to throw combos, which most missed but a lot did get through. He hit Lamont with some very good power shots in rounds 2-7, while Lamont occasionally landed a jab and a handful of power shots. Lamont wasn't making Garcia pay for missing. You have to give Garcia credit because Lamont was literally running Lara and rigo style, and Danny found a way to land some hard power shots. If Lamont would have thrown more in the first 7, say 20 punches more a round and he could have pulled it off.
