Danny will owe a lot of rematches by the time he finally goes to 147

You have to give Garcia credit because Lamont was literally running Lara and rigo style, and Danny found a way to land some hard power shots. If Lamont would have thrown more in the first 7, say 20 punches more a round and he could have pulled it off.
I don't recall Danny landing much of anything significant for the first half of that fight. Guess I'll have to rewatch it. What I do recall is Peterson moving and jabbing while danny was swinging and missing. It was an ugly first half with neither fighter doing much. I just don't see how judges and viewers find Garcia winning 6 of the first 7 rounds when to be honest, neither fighter did anything significant enough to clearly win those rounds. The actual fight didn't start until the 8th round and from there on Peterson put a whoopin on Danny and made him look foolish.

Danny is not that good and never was any good

Danny Garcia is not a great fighter and never was a great fighter. Khan's weakness made Garcia. Danny has been matched very well by his handlers and that has enabled Little Danny to survive this long as a so called champion. Herrera beat danny. Jabba gave a good showing and even tiny Matty average as he is gave Danny Boy a scrap. Peterson is a bum. Careful fights have kept Danny Boy a champion. Danny is not that good a boxer but has good matchmakers.

          This...

I rewatched the fight and can say that neither Peterson or Garcia really landed much early. I think the difference was Peterson was moving better, and Garcia was pressuring but ineffectively.

I had Peterson winning the fight, but knew they would give it to Garcia. It seems he's Al Haymon's favorite and in order to beat him you need to KO him.

At 147 that is just what will happen.

Peterson is looking to Leave 140 behind, in hopes of getting that big payday against May or Pac...Unfortunately for him, his first run in with a True Welter will detour his plans...

Watching the decision of this fight had me in utter disgust..I felt like the first 6 Rounds, Peterson should have been awarded half of them. But hey, to dethrone a Champion (whose belt isn't even on the line anyway) I guess the knockout is the only way..Smh.

In any case, before "Gift" moves up to welter he should fight the likes of Adrien Broner, Rematch Peterson, and Rematch Herrera...PERIOD.

I don't think Garcia will survive a fight with Broner. While I do despise that loudmouth cúnt, he has the movement and boxing skills that seem to nullify Garcia's offense, but unlike Peterson, Broner at 140 has the power to really hurt Garcia.

Garcia will not be able to hang with the best at 147, and it's pretty hard to deny that he's lost the shine he had after he beat Matthysee.

I'm normally with you on all things Cotto, but Garcia has not done much for himself with his last 3 fights.

man o man. to say it was a gift decision would be an understatement. the first 6 to 7 rounds were boring, but what i saw was peterson using his distance popping a jab or two controlling the pace and distance and not giving danny counter opportunities to throw the left hook. while garcia followed and tried to apply pressure and engage, he was inaffective at pressure swinging wildy, lost of misses and couldn't catch peterson. garcia was unaffective at cutting off the ring and applying affective pressure. then to my surprise peterson pretty much went flat footed in garcias wheel house distance, keeped a high guard and got off first and started to bust up garcia really badly. he won the late so called championships rounds without a doubt. i can see anybody in there right minds scoring this fight to garcia, when no belts are on the line and at a catch weight. btw, the only good commentator of the night that spoke with any kind of substance was bj. thanks my haymon on another danny "gift" garcia win.

most observers mr. greisman, not some

on another note, Garcia doesn't seem as hungry as he used to be, there's always some reluctance now when he's asked about dangerous fights, compared to say a Broner who shouts about fighting everybody I think the money matters more to Garcia at this point

Interesting how the disdain for Garcia clearly clouds objective viewing and reasoning... 9 rounds to 3 is how I scored the fight. Lest us not forget that Swift was in there with a super middleweight and was able to withstand the shots. All told a very good comeback fight for Swift as he moves up!
