You think HBO makes money on their house fights? What planet are you on? HBO doesn't get commercials, they get a set budget each year based on subscriptions. They make money on PPV, if you know how to pay Cotto and his opponent about 2 million, and make money for it not being on PPV, how much do the tickets and concessions cost and who can afford it.

Canelo was set to fight Clottey in December NOT Cotto. Cotto/Canelo was never on the table in December, they wanted that for May even Arum said as much. Canelo picked Clottey, faked an ankle injury and pulled out that's why there was no budget in December. By that time it was too late to make another fight which is why Cotto was targeting early Janurary or Feb which was widely reported. Cotto fought once this year, yes, none of it was from lack of trying. May/Pac was being discussed during this time as well, **** happens. Him not fighting wasn't to "hold" the belt hostage.
