That's how I feel too. People keep saying Lamont wasn't doing much but neither was danny, so that means you give him the round? In the first round Lamont moved and jabbed, all danny did was miss. End of the round Lamont cracks him in the nose, that won the round. This is how most early rounds went.

You and many others are not giving Garcia any credit for the many solid body shots he landed in those early rounds. Peterson was landing nearly nothing while Garcia was landing really good to his body and consistently. That's why he won those rounds.

Turned it off half way through........this is what haymon is bringing to boxing ....fighters not making weight and thinking it's some sort of public sparring session....corrupt decisions.....over matched opponents......when I watch the haymon shows i just get the impression it's not taken seriously and fighters are not committed to it and there actually stablemates sparring

That is how I saw it also. When Peterson won a round, it was decisive and he destroyed Danny, but a fight is scored round by round and Peterson gave away the first three rounds. Peterson looked like Mayweather in the 12 round. In an even round, a judge just wont give it to the guy who refuses to engage. Huge tactical mistake by Peterson, he could have won the fight pretty easily if he would have engaged earlier.

I had 116-113 in favor of Peterson.Still Both fighters are crap. Matthysse is the best in that division.

Not a huge fan of either but Lamont definitely stole the show. I won't join the argument about how it was scored, I said my piece in another thread....

I do have to say that there is NO denying that Lamont systematically broke Danny down in the fight. First sized him up and engaged a little, then used the ring and movement to make Danny swing and miss. Afterwards he engaged more on the inside, then began to walk him down and abuse him. In the inside exchanges it was clear he was the way more precise puncher.


The biggest takeaway from last night is that there are now multiple blueprints to beating DSG; Herrera's and now Peterson's.
