PBC is good for boxing overall, the only beef I have is the same with all boxing, too many mismatches and non competitive fights. The Broner fight was terrible, Thurman fight was ok, but it was a big mismatch, Broner vs Guerrero would have been good and Molina would have got KO'd by Thurman, but at least the fight would have been worth watching. The match making has been terrible, if they switched opponents on Broner card the fights would have been better, same with Stevenson card last week.
If the match making doesn't get better, it will flop. Funny thing is the fights this week at least look better on paper.

Basically, you're worried that Al Haymon might pick the investors over the fighters in PBC model. This while you exult the current model where you KNOW promoters and networks pick their own interest above all, leaving your favorite fighters twisting in the wind either underpaid (Kovalev), shut down over contract disputes (Ward; Mikey Garcia) or fighting in some random locale/casino (Macau) while they're lining their pockets with unshared site fee money and broadcast revenues.

Again, why is this 'loyalty' question now such a hot button for you? Why act like Al Haymon is some 'new' evil to this sport?
OF COURSE Promoters and networks put their own interests first. That is what they are supposed to do and if they did not do that, they should be fired. Do you think the owner of a company is running it for his employees' benefit? NO! He is running it to earn money!! You think your favourite restaurant wants to give you the best deal possible on your meals? Dream on! They want to make the most profit possible while giving you meals at a price that you are willing to pay.

And I have no pity for people like Ward or Chavez Jr. or any other fighter who suddenly decides his contract is not good enough. It is their responsibility not to sign a contract that does not meet their requirements and that they are not satisfied with.

People around here are fracking naïve. Do you think Haymon is doing this out of the goodness of his heart and wants to make his fighters rich men? HAHAHAHAHA!!! Haymon wants to make as much profit for himself as he possibly can, first and foremost. Second, he wants to make as much money for his investors as possible so that they will invest in future products. The fighters? He wants to give them as much sugar as it takes to get them to sign their lives away and then pay them as little as possible once they take the bait.

Man, people still don't get it. It's the quality of the fights fans are complaining about. It's not because it's not free. Have you heard anyone complain why HBO/SHO fights are not free?

The amazing thing is that threads like this pop up and there are tons of people defending Haymon and his PBC. But look at threads about his fighters, like the recent one on Quillin and his problem making weight, and you never see ANYONE standing up for his fighters. Not for Quillin, not for Chavez Jr., not for Stevenson, not for ANY of them. It's like the people defending him in threads like this don't care about the fights in the slightest.

Everything PBC had put on so far would have been on HBO or showtime and people wouldn't butch like they are now.

^^^this. i would love PBC if the match ups weren't 90% mediocre, and if the commentating and production weren't so poop.

If people don't like the match ups, form your own promo company and match-make your own fights if you feel it is so easy peasy.

Does everyone want great fights? Of course?

Can great fights be made every single time out? Don't think so.

I don't doubt there are many who complain about some match ups on HBO or Showtime being mismatches, but the same folks will still watch them regardless.

                    Same will go for PBC.

These fools really think great fights can happen every time out. With them running the sport it will be done in months.

They arent smart enough to realize there isnt enough talent in the pool.

Hopefully with PBC the younger kids can get off the "major sport" train and see boxing is profitable and start training for it
