And this is the difference between me and you.
Because I acknowledge that those en****** put their own interests first, I give ZERO fuggs when their own greed destroys their industry and chases off their primary resources (i.e. actual boxers). When a business loses sight of that, trouble ensues. This isn't like team sports where people cheer for 'the jersey'. This is a sport of individuals.
I don't tune in to watch Top Rank banners fly over the ring nor HBO placards on microphones. I don't tune in to gawk at the chest and legs of ring girls nor because Don King is holding small flags nor because the Watson Twins are allowed to stand in the ring.
I tune in to see the ACTUAL FIGHTERS engage in the sweet science. Those dudes in the ring could (and have) literally DIE in there. That's why I advocate those dudes getting all the bread they DESERVE. And right now, actual fighters, the ones who's lives are on the line, are aligning themselves to the PBC model in droves.
What does that tell you?
Contract disputes happen for a ton of reasons beyond someone deciding its 'not good enough'. It is silly to just act like the fighters are simply not 'honoring' an agreement, especially in a sport with the history of shady and strong-arm deals like professional boxing.
Again, as a fan, you've been living with this for the past 50 years. Why are you are upset now? By the looks of it, by worse case scenario the Haymon model pays the fighters better, and the fighters themselves are choosing to align to it.
That in of itself should be enough to garner support from 'real fans'.
