I don't know the answer to that, but whenever you talk about GGG objectivety flies out of the window and something else flies in, I think it's called "haterism"

      r

I don't see why the promoter would be overpaying you without an extension. That's Bob doing his job. Granted the no extension offer was poor but it was only a single fight extension, under fantastic terms: 5m if he lost to GGG, 10 if he won. He's not gonna get near that much elsewhere

I've never run down GGG as a fighter or a person. I like Golovkin on both those fronts. But he's 33 years old and his best win is Martin Murray. There's something wrong there.

And Ward still hasn't had even one of his tune-up fights yet.

If GGG moved up to 168 it would probably take him till his 35th birthday to get to where he is right now at 160. And that's assuming the move worked and he carried his power up with him, which is by no means certain.

I don't think I've said either. I have said don't say everyone is ducking you when you don't lift a finger to try and make those fights.

Kovalev was willing to fight Hopkins off PPV and take a very small purse.

Golovkin is not willing to do that with someone like Ward. From the very start, which was several years ago around the time of Ward-Rodriguez, Golovkin's team were trying to stick their chests out in terms of the financial split of the fight. Let Ward take the lions share, beat his ass and become a star.

They aren't willing to fight Ward unless they get a huge sum of money and they need the fight on PPV. I get that attitude if you've had some stellar career with an amazing resume but Golovkin hasn't. They don't want to take that risk.

Ward said that same PPV **** about fighting Golovkin. No one seems to remember that. It's hard to blame one side using that excuse and not the other.

What's wrong is that the names and the other belt-holders in his division have all refused to fight GGG. Martinez wouldn't fight him, Quillin wouldn't fight him, N'Dam wouldn't fight him, and now Cotto doesn't want to know either

True. And Ward wouldn't have been able to fight GGG back when Sanchez made that infamous "doesn't make financial sense" comment, even if he'd wanted to.

Why wouldn't he? Hopkins was a unified 175 champion and 50 years old. Again, Golovkin doesn't have that luxury at 160 pounds.

Kovalev's goal was to beat the best names in his division, that included Hopkins. Golovkin is trying to do the same thing. He's even willing to step up to 168 as shown by his interest in Chavez, Kessler and Froch. Ward has never been an option for the past couple of years due to his promotional problems (and you know that) and the fight still isn't possible until Ward finishes his two tune ups or whatever he's doing with Roc Nation (which you also know). Simply put - neither Ward or GGG have been at a place where they could fight each other.

Hopkins was never going to beat Kovalev, and Kovalev knew it, so fighting him for peanuts made sense. It was an investment that was almost sure to pay off in the long run.

The situation is very different with GGG and Ward. GGG would be moving up in weight to face a P4P champion in his prime. That's a much harder task than Kovalev faced with BHop.

Another difference - BHop actually rang Duva and offerred the fight to Krusher. Ward has never offered to fight GGG.
