Was Margarito on his way to stopping Cotto in the Rematch?

Cotto never should had tried to box Margs.. He should have pushed him back and ripped him to the body...He would have stopped him.....Margs is soft downstairs...Cotto was in "boxing mode" against Margs......

Anyone who thinks Margs was coming on is honestly delusional. Come on people watch the fight. He didn't win the 9th and he was not really landing anything significant.

The difference between the two fights is that while Cotto arguably swept the first 6 rds in the 1st (I thought Marg got the 2nd rd), Margs was doing good work in those rounds and laying the groundwork for what happened later.

Tony didn't do ***** in the second fight, and Cotto was really showing no similar signs. Plus it was going into the 10th and Cotto was still winning every round whereas he started to fade in the 6th and 7th in the first fight. Margs just didn't do enough work early to make that a possibility.

I am / WAS a Cotto fan but I do wonder what would have happened had that eye not been messed up. What a fight it would have been. We know for a FACT that Cotto gasses late and Margarito is known for his legendary stamina and determination.

Idk what fight y'all watched but margacheto was not doing any harm to cotto. His punches had no effect,, cotto was engaging and clinching and actually out muscling margarita., I never saw cotto get hurt in the rematch and cotto never looked tired like in the first fight

So many idiots on here about Margarito....Cotto was throughly dominating by boxing smart in the rematch whichbhe should have done in the first too. Margarito was always a cheater n believe he cheated his becoming a champion from andrew six heads lewis fight with plaster. I loved margarito but very disappointed when he cheated since he was such with his conditioning n the volume of punches he threw in a fight. The only thing differently with the cotto rematch would be had margarito not been with a busted eye could have been a different fight altogether. In cottos defense he abandoned the body work he was notorious for and could have destroyed margarito like mosley did

No way. Miguel was in better shape and more prepared the second time around. Not to mention, Margarito was about to be blind in one eye which was only going to make Cotto's job easier.
And Margarito seemed to lack some burst of power. Hmm... wonder why?....
