Was a competitive fight, Lucas's eye being damaged by Danny couldn't have been accounted for but that is how it goes and was all legal. Plenty of so so kds happen but the ref has to call what he sees. There was also a point later in the fight where Lucas landed flush maybe got Danny's attention but Weeks stepped in don't remember why, halting any offense.........Tough break for Matty and Danny employed a great gameplan and was the better fighter that night. Would love to see a rematch.

I don't see anywhere in that fight where Daniel was hurt. Being punched in the face does not always equate to being buzzed or in need of a referee saving you.

Not very noticeably but his attention was gotten and he backed off a second or two and Weeks broke up the action for some reason before Lucas could press the advantage.

Great insight. I agred with your assessment of the fight. Danny won, but to ignore the bad reffing, and bullsh.it kd shows a lack of intelligence or a blind loyalty to the Philli-rat.

I share the same view with the thread starter. However it was good performance for Garcia at the second half of the fight, he deserved the win and I'm not trying to take away anything from him but still I think Matthysse would have won it wasn't for his swollen eye.

Not saying it would have made a difference or Weeks did anything wrong just saying Lucas had a rough night and nothing worked out well for him against an excellent fighter with a good gameplan.

Sorry to bring this up again but I had to address the facts.

Just finished watching it and I scored it 114-112 Garcia the exact same as two of the official scorecards. 6 rounds to 5 with the knockdown and low blow making the difference to the overall card.

Matthysse got off to a good start and I had it 4-2 after 6 rounds like the official scorecards. Lucas was starting to figure out Garcia around round 5 and 6 and after the eye injury Danny started taking control but Lucas still won a few rounds. Garcia did what all good champions do and took advantage by throwing left hooks at Lucas' blind side (right eye). However without the controversial knockdown, Matthysse wins 114-113. So close yet so far, fight was a lot closer than certain people make out.

Tony Weeks inability to see all the low blows by Danny Garcia, rabbit punches by Matthysse and the back of the head punch and knockdown while Matthysse was behind the ropes was ridiculous. Also Matthysse's corner pissed me off, no enswell(metal tool for swelling) in a world title fight is bloody ridiculous; they were using their ****ing fingers.

There's no moral victories in sports. Winners won, and losers lost. A close loss is still a loss, a badly ref'd fight is still a fight, and a close win is a still a win. You don't get points for style or by the margin of the victory, the fact is you did what you had to do to win.

It's okay to point out what you saw in the fight and talk detailed boxing, but Garcia won and was the better fighter that night. He got clobbered and ate everything Matthysse threw at him. And Matthysse broke down slowly but surely. That's the fight in a nutshell from an objective POV.

Why do you fail to acknowledge you along with your ilk WOULD HAVE BET YOUR LIVES that Lucas was going to KO the "overhyped" DSG and take his belts. He not only beat Lucas, he knocked him down and though it was a close competitive bout HE WON. This is what pisses me off about the absolute worst fanbase on this site. That KD wasnt a KD was a push into the ropes, shouldent have been a KD, and and danny should have gotten 2 points deducted for all the low blows he was intentionally throwing.

thats a freaking 3 point swing, Lucas Won that Fight if it was officiated right. Lets keep it real.
