I'd have to pick Kovalev in this fight. He's obviously got the power to hurt Ward and is more than capable of landing on Ward, he has the boxing ability. He doesn't have to load up he can just shoot the jab straight jab with devastating effect. And of course he's a big light heavyweight, Ward would have to move up to Kovalev's weight class, would he be able to bully Kovalev with his strength on the inside? I doubt it.

Ward don't want none of Kovalev, he's too busy calling out small middleweights like GGG.
P.S. As far as refs, no Robert Byrd or Kenny Bayless either. When Floyd was hugging the **** outa Guerrero, Guerrero loosened an arm and started punching Floyd. Byrd violently yanked Guerrero away like half ways across the ring and made him do a 180 and scolded him. WTF!?Comment

Not a former boxer myself but I agree with what you said. Ward at his best will be very difficult to beat. He is every bit as skilled as Mayweather. In fact I think he is better p4p.Ward does a lot of subtle things someone who has never boxed a day in their lives (namely 90% of the users on this board) would never understand. He can take away what you do best and force you to have a plan b, c, or d. Ward decision and the Eastern European bigots cry robbery.
But Ward needs to get back in the ring and get that ring rust off.Comment

Given Ward with a fight or two under his belt and at 100% physically along with reasonably neutral officiating and venue, I'll take the Son Of God by clear UD.Comment
