I never liked that excuse for Tyson being beaten. That he was just a bully.

When he was at his best he was a technically excellent fighter.

IMO, his loses are a result of him being lazy, unfocused, poorly prepared or just plain shot i.e. Lewis.

Not to take anything away from the fighters who have beaten him, but at his best he was never challenged.

Buster fought a great fight that night.Could he have beaten anyone that night very doubtful but he could beat Tyson that night and he did.Buster just got up for that fight in a huge way something he never did before and to my knowledge never did again. But that night he was on and he became a world champion that night and should be given credit for haveing a great gameplan and carrying it out.

typical thread from the biggest tyson nuthugger on boxingscene.

Tyson had a bad night and Douglas had a great night. Douglas fought well and showed heart in getting off the canvas to finish the fiht.

In regards to the original thread....I don't know. Douglas kicked Mike's ass and busted the balls of nuthuggers everywhere. Beating up all those people in one night with one fight is pretty damn impressive.

Mike would have beaten 90% of the heavyweight division that night, regardless of his condition....but not Douglas on that night. Tough ****.

It's probably not rubbish because Buster had the STRATEGY to beat Tyson. We all know Tyson goes into self destruct mode when he thinks hes getting beat!

buster did a great job doing what he had to do. tyson obviously fades as the fight goes along(doesn't mean he isn't still dangerous), so buster came out with a good strategy - boxing. he used footwork and fakes to throw off tyson which allowed douglas to gradually overcome tyson's mental state of being invincible.

a lot of people say that james tillis had mapped out the game plan to beat tyson. it seems that buster douglas might have picked something up from that fight.
