  • First 6 rounds would definitely tell us many things:

    • Would Pac's supposed early onslaught succeed (if not a KO/TKO) so as to see Floyd adjust dramatically?

    • Can Mayweather easily counter Pac's offensive barrages?
    • Can Mayweather take Pac's punches?
    • Would Mayweather go OFFENSIVE and walk-down on Pacquiao or play his usual defensive game?
    • Would Mayweather be able to be his usual agile self and move about to avoid punches or would he show up as the old-Mayweather as in the Maidana fights?
    • Would Pacquiao of old or the old Pacquiao show up?

The first few rounds OBVIOUSLY would show us clearer answers. And obviously if Mayweather drags this fight longer, the more it will be in his favor. But that's why this fight is so interesting because there's so many scenarios involved and the physical advantage/mismatch that Pacquiao has to contend...

It is time now to just talk about the PURE PUGILISM of this fight without the fanfare involved. Sure it would be hard. I am a Pacquiao fan but a very strong believer in scientific fighting as a huge fan of Muhammad Ali and the Range control and utilizing the jab and the tempo of the fight.

I am also a fan of Mayweather's skills...Pacquiao's offensive prowess. Ah, this is getting better by the minute.

      • If this were true, there is no way Team Manny would release it to the media. I get that they are playing to their fanbase which keeps the buzz for this fight at a high level.

Besides, Floyd and his Team can't be so ****** that they would base their plan on anything Team Manny puts out in the press.

        • Marquez Fight Strategy

I think the way marquez fought manny has been used by bradley and Alegria.

Counter manny's jab by ducking under and shooting the straight right hand. Touch him to the body, and force him to react.

Look at the feints marquez did. At times, manny was way off balance due to overreacting to feints.

When manny stood in front of marquez and Bradley he was able to get off combinations. I still remember that sneaky right hand that really hurt marquez.

He didn't really use his weight much.

Although Floyd won clearer in the 2nd fight, I thought he looked much worse, he was getting feinted to the ropes pretty bad, reflexes accuracy and speed looked a lot worse. Movement was significantly reduced after the 6th was generally more sluggish.

He's in a dangerous place if he's trapped on the ropes.
If not 20, close to it. Floyd didn't allow him to use his weight in the 2nd fight, the first fight he did though. Funny that weight doesn't seem to matter now though when it comes to 15-20lbs against Floyd, but 3-5lbs means EVERYTHING in regards to Floyd vs. Marquez.

Yep you're right, Floyd is slipping. I just don't think he's slipped enough to lose to Pacquiao.

            • Look, all I knows, Pac hasn't been this motivated for a fight since Marco Antonio Barrera and Oscar Dela Hoya. We all saw how those went.

When he fights at his best, he puts in performances of a lifetime. It makes you shock and awe at how he handled the opponent when nobody could predict what he did to happen.

Can it happen to Floyd? Quite possibly.

That's why we are paying on May 2nd. lol

I don't think it meant much against Marquez that's a terrible style match for Marquez that he'd lose at any weight.

He was highly motivated for Marquez IV. I remember well. Highly.

Nope, I said "It seems that you are suggesting that I am saying that he needs to fight like Marquez to beat Pac.

Yeah, they are both counter punchers, Floyd is just better, plus all the other things he does better than Marquez.

I am saying Floyd won't have to fight like Marquez nor will he need to take as much damage.

                      VERY debatable!
