And no, his trainer being busy is not a valid excuse. Tough luck. Get another damn trainer if you have to, just get a fight done.

And even at this point, there is nothing definite about him fighting Heiland. Or anyone else for that matter. Nothing official, nothing from WBC confirming a fight. Not a damn thing. If he takes a year to get a voluntary done, will it take two years for his mandatory? You would think that with all the ****** rules sanctioning bodies have in place, they would have something in regards to time limits to defend a title. Anything over 6 months is a joke unless there is an injury to recover from.
Dude you don't really care what Cotto is doing your just concerned with what he does with the title which as a diehard GGG fan, you feel it belongs to GGG. Please don't pretend that your bother with the fact that he has been in active for a year, you could give two ****s about Cotto or his career. I've asked you this before and here it goes again. Without Cotto who is GGG fighting that's going to send him through the PPV stratosphere? Without Canelo or the Haymon fighters how is he going to build that hall fame career? You do know Quilin is taken back his belt, so there goes the possibility of GGG fighting another one your preferred fighters.

They do. They just dont enforce it when they smell a nickel is out there to be made......

          3.1 Timing of Defenses.

The WBC***8217;s policy is to offer opportunities to boxers to compete for
its titles, and thus the WBC seeks to prevent
titles from being frozen due to inactivity by
champions. Therefore, a WBC champion should
strive to defend the title in mandatory or
voluntary defenses at least three (3) times a
year, unless a written exception or extension is
granted by the WBC in its sole discretion. Therefore, a WBC champion should strive to
defend his title at least every one hundred twenty (120) days unless otherwise permitted by
the WBC in its sole discretion. Upon winning a title, a WBC champion must defend the
title within 90 to 120 days or as otherwise ordered
by the WBC, unless otherwise ordered or
permitted by the WBC in its sole discretion.

I care about the title being on the waist of someone who is willing to defend it against the best in the division more than once per year. I want to see GGG unify all the titles in the division which will make him the only PPV draw in the MW division. And when a unified, undisputed, unbeaten MW champion decides to move up to SMW, HE will be the PPV draw. Canelo and Haymon's fighters can kiss his ass at that point.

Adonis Stevenson, as much as I personally despise the man, is a more honorable champion than Cotto.

Cotto is NOT fighting the number 1 contender for the WBC title. The number 1, mandatory contender for the WBC title is Gennady Golovkin.

And for the record as long as Canelo is fighting in the 155lb division he will be the number one PPV draw in and around the MW division for years to come. Why because he has the Mexican fan base the same people GGG is being marketed to.

They're working on that he is being marketed to the Mexican fans as an honorary Mexican fighter.
