Apart from one defeat last year, Robinson Castellanos has been WBC silver champion since 2011 LMAO, i guess he deserves his shot, had to wait long enough for it that is for sure.

I really don't know what to make of this. Gonzalez got ripped by those 2 punches and never recovered. Russell looked basically the same as always before that, all flashy speed that mostly missed.

you werent paying attention...russell was landing his jabs very well in round 1 while getting hit with just 1 punch....thats impressive....he slept a bit at the beginning of round 2, then started throwing power punches and destroyed him.....Gonzalez has lost most of his big fights, he is not very good and was always gonna be an easy fight for russell. Just look at the way southpaws like De Leon and Nishioka landed so easily on gonzalez. Russell would never beat Loma but he has always been good.

Everyone following Jhonny's career knows about his weak chin. He is just like Amir Khan since after being hit once it appears they can't recover from the first impact. Any other boxer but Gonzales could have recovered but Jhonny's leg were so unsteady. Anyway, congratulations to Russell for doing what he had to do after preparing very well. Maybe Gary should look for a rematch with Loma since he has claimed problems of dehydration were crucial in his only defeat.

There is nothing wrong with being a solid top contender that puts on damn good performances and fights the top guys I'm his division.
