Comments Thread For: Harrison: Mayweather's Jab Will Cause Issues For Manny

Undefeated junior middleweight contender Tony Harrison (20-0, 17KOs) is starting to make noise in his division. In his four recent fights, Harrison crushed Antwone Smith, Tyrone Brunson, Bronco McKart and Grady Brewer.

Harrison gave his thoughts on the welterweight mega-fight taking place on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

He's picking Mayweather to win the fight. While Mayweather may have some trouble with Pacquiao's southpaw style, Harrison says Floyd will eventually figure Pacquiao out and use the jab to seal the win.

It's not the jab it's the right hands.

Pac is the best fighter at taking away the opponents jab.

          He's right

Floyd will be using high guard more this fight because he's against a southpaw

And the left jab to the face is quicker from high guard because it's closer to the target

jab was likely bradley's best punch in the first fight and it wasnt to shabby in the 2nd fight...manny was dropped by a jab early in his career...he tries to counter the jab with a straight left...but he has to have the foot position to do that effectively and i dont think floyd is going to lose the battle of thinking with his feet to manny if the slower marquez never does...manny has an uphill battle like he's never seen before..i thkn floyd has saw pressure over and over again regardless of the speed its pressure, pressure that fights on the inside and will stay there to wear u down..not being able to lay on floyd he will be fresher than normal for 12 rounds..an i think its possible that it wont got that far the way floyd is punching in training

And from that high guard Floyd can throw the jab, right hand or left hook without telegraphing either of them.

There's going to be a lot Manny has to deal with in terms of adjustments.

somebody sees it..ppl think b/c u counter rios/oscar/algieri's jab u counter floyds...floyd is the epitome of a 2 handed fighter with no tells..manny works one gameplan all night..he counters one shot effectively on lower level comp..but like u said floyd has an arsenal and speed to hit and not be hit..not only speed just he knows how to take the shot in a non scoring area to protect himself

Floyd often telegraphs his right hand by rotating his back foot
