Gonzalez should be fighting Mares, but Mares and his team don't want it. That's one that Mares is not winning.

Mares, however, can probably bully Russell around. That's more winnable.

So, awful prediction: Russell outboxes Gonzalez, thus Mares doesn't have to rematch him, then we get Mares vs LSC
Good prediction. Mares is shook of Gonzalez power. I would love to see Mares vs Lomachenko.

Let me spell out what more dangerous means with a hypothetical situation. If Rios had a choice to fight Floyd or Provo. Floyd would easily out box him but Prov is more dangerous for Rios to fight even if Rios were to win. Danger implies health risk, not loss risk.

I forgot that Lomachenko/Russell was only a majority decision. Glob, boxing is dumb.

I didn't give him one round. Complete shut out. Now he gets another title shot. After beating who?

"If we fought 100 times, I would beat him 99, you just happened to see the one I dont win. But we're not fighting again so you don't get to see me win the next 99, because I don't seem interested in a rematch even though I'll win the next 99. I'm just letting Lomachenko keep the belt because then I would give him 99 straight loses and he would be like 3-100 and everybody would be scared to fight me."

If Gonzalez wasn't so inconsistent in his big fights I'd say this would be a good fight for him..he's got the length, the jab, the movement to make it easy on himself but...he's up and down sometimes. His chin takes vacations. Russell had one bad night, Gonzalez has had a couple. He's been laid out flat against a southpaw before..on home soil. I can't write Russell off, he's quick enough to hit Johnny with stuff he doesn't see and that is what JG struggles with imo

Who outboxed Jhonny? He's lost mostly all of his big fights by KO. He displays great boxing ability and seems to be in control of the fight, and simply has been caught with something big his fragile chin can't recover from.

There are so many fighters who get undeserving title shots nowadays. If we criticize Russell for this, then most current championship caliber fighters should be criticized as well.

Speaking of the Lomachenko-Russell fight, Loma got a title shot coming off... a loss... in a title fight.
