Or are you just desperately reaching trying to use an interview where Gennady Golovkin's name doesn't even come up and where Lara, who speaks no English at all, tries to answer a question in English.

I'm talking about Lara saying in his own words that he is staying at 154lbs.
You know that Golovkin fights at 160lbs, right?
The different weight classes isn't the only obstacle in making this fight.
Al Haymon is paying out of his own pocket for his guys to fight on other networks. Do you think Lara will just be able to walk over and get a fight on HBO? Golovkin is under contract to have his fights broadcast on HBO. The only way I could see GGG fighting on another network is if K2 were to lose a purse bid. In order for there to be a purse bid, Lara would need to be WBA mandatory challenger AT MIDDLEWEIGHT! not 154lbs. Golovkin is the WBA Super champ at 160lbs...not 154.
Even if it were a mandatory situation, the fight happening wouldn't be a sure thing. What if K2 were to win purse bid?
Remember when Al Haymon payed Peter Quillin to vacate his title rather than defend against Matt Korobov on that RocNation show on HBO?

So? It's called new information, it isn't a flip flop because new information has come to light so you need to digest the new information and come to a different conclusion.

Him not fighting Lara is a bit suspect, but I doubt it's GGG it's probably HBO and Haymon. HBO doesn't want GGG to look bad obviously, he's supposed to retire Cotto so he becomes a star. Haymon probably wants way too much money for Lara and well, he doesn't want his guy to get run out of the ring for pennies. I can't say I care too much really, unless GGG fights someone at 168 I already know he's winning by KO. I don't care what the name is.

When Richard Schaefer was still with GBP, he and Peter Quillin were running their mouths about fighting GGG again.
K2 called their bluff and sent an offer.
All of a sudden Schaefer wanted to talk about networks trading fighters. Kid Undercard went silent.
That is at least 2 times Quillin or his people have turned down that fight. They do not want it.

Pretty much. If Loeffler comes out and says they pursued the Lara fight but it was turned down, I'll revise my opinion again but I've yet to hear anything about it.

Hopefully someone asks him and we don't get an answer as embarrassing as the one in my original post.

Again....why should he move up to 160 unless he's offered a big fight? His natural weight is 154. As of March 8th, he was never offered a Golovkin fight because they'd already secured Willie Jr.
