Is the split 50-50 in a purse bid situation between these two?

Probably files under the "special situation" section where it could be whatever they decide. 50-50, 55-45 either way. It still wouldn't surprise me if Aducknis ended up with the higher split.

If it's 60/40, then it probably explains why the Stevenson people are so eager for the purse bid.

Kovalev has got some big wins and has got 3 belts. His stock is much higher than the first round of negotiations. He won't be so keen to take the short end of the money.

I think it's an empty gesture, simply posturing. When Stevenson went into witness relocation, he did everything he could to avoid a fight with the Krusher. Signed to Haymon and exclusivity to Showtime. This fight ain't happening anytime soon.

That's my feeling too. Stevenson hasn't even fought Bika yet and Kovalev's team have already publicly announced that they'll be taking care of their mandatory in June/July first.

Stevenson sells out here in Montreal and Quebec City. UFC PPVs sell out here in less than a minute. Montreal is a fight town. Outside his home base it would not be quite the same. Stevenson MUST defend his title against Kovalev or he will be stripped. Without the title, he will be much less of a draw especially with no chance to capture another title as Kovalev will be holding all of them.

Doesn't matter if he wants it or not. It is a mandatory defense of his WBC title. He has no choice in the matter.
