I think Sergio ducked GGG and got lucky by fighting Cotto. Golovkin would have sent him directly to the hospital and into a retirement home and Cotto would have stayed where he belonged and none of these foolish discussions would be taking place.

Actually, GGG will need the other two belts to become the unified champion. But having the WBC title will make it easier to get unification bouts for the remaining titles. Assuming of course that Quillin doesn't get one but I have a feeling that title has already been bought and paid for.
