Let's say GGG fights and beats Cotto.

      What then?
He becomes a superstar by destroying a former star. Worked for Manny Pacquaio and several others before him. It's the passing of the torch.

Bigger names will become more interested in fighting Golovkin if he becomes a PPV fighter and that would happen if/when he pulverises Cotto.

Perhaps in a Nickelodean universe. Some people are easily impressed.

          Yep or Canelo or Chavez.

          Those are the big 3.

Careful, they don't like to talk about Canelo facing GGG nor Chavez Jr facing GGG.

No in the real world. Oscar De La Hoya was a weight drained shell of a man when Pacquiao annihilated him but it helped propel Pacquiao to superstardom.

Cotto is just a pawn. A tool to make Golovkin a bigger name. No one thinks it would be a great win.

Cotto is about making haters even more hateful. It's the taino way.

                  You wanna hate? Toma!

You can see it in his interviews. The man is astute... He knows when it's time to make the peasant village scream in agony.

                  Miguel El Malo Cotto.

Canelo won't last 5 against GGG, if Oscar ever lets him try, and Chavez Jr. will lose on the scale when he can't make weight within 10 pounds. If his master Al Haymon would let him fight in the first place. Not to mention that Jr. already had his chance and decided against it.

I would love to see either fight 10X more than a Cotto fight. If I want to see Puerto Rican chickens getting slaughtered, I'll watch the cooks do it at my local PR restaurant.
