A good number of people thought he was a shell of himself because of his injuries. Obviously you dont think so because you worship the man. But thats been already argued to death.

Please tell me one win on Cottos resume that would be better if he were to defeat GGG. Go ahead ill wait.
obviously cotto's victory over a younger mosley is his best win.

Would it compare to beating GGG. No because Cotto is NOT in his prime and according to some hes "a washed up, blown up welterweight" and "the knee doe" even tho sergio ran across the ring to sneak cotto near the end of the 6th.

    the knee doe!!!!

GGG's manager and promoter are the only ones in the industry who constantly go to the press to whine about the fact that another fighter won't fight their fighter. Just as GGG refuses to fight Ward, Cotto refuses to fight GGG. There are plenty of other quality fighters out there who are willing to fight GGG. Ward, Froch and (at one point) Kessler are all available and willing to fight GGG. Instead of challenging one of those guys, he chose to fight second-tier fighters while whining about the fact that Cotto and Alvarez won't fight him.
GGG is a MIDDLEWEIGHT. Cotto holds the WBC, RING lineal titles at MIDDLEWEIGHT. Froch, Ward, Kessler (retired) are all SMWs and only Froch would be PPV quality and only in UK.

Ward is not fighting anyone right now until he has his tune up fights and gets things sorted out with Froch. Froch has to sort things out with Ward and then fight Chavez Jr before being available to GGG. Neither of them would be available before 2016 and anyone who claims they are available and willing to fight is a fool and an idiot. If Ward wants to fight, all he has to do is make an offer.

According to HBO, Golovkin is the only fighter they have ever had on their network who has never refused an opponent that they proposed. Even though he is a lifetime MW, he never even requested to fight at a catchweight during negotiations with Chavez Jr. for their fight that fell through. He is an honest, up front fighter like few others in the game today.

If you do not appreciate that, that is your problem and you probably have little respect for any quality human being in any profession or sport.

      • You GGG fans will be following us into every other Cotto thread once Cotto vacates the MW belt and there is no one with a name for GGG to fight. GGG will become irrelevant once the well of subpar fighters runs dry at MW. The truth is that to no fault of his own GGG is in a ****ie division and once Cotto's out of the picture your boy will be FORCED to move up. I believe GGG is a good fighter but nothing more atleast not yet, he does have a lot of potential but he's already in his thirties.

??? Wouldnt that enhance his legacy? Because he was in the twlight of his career and still was good enough to take down the GGG train.

According to Cotto worshippers, isnt he rejuvenized from fighting under Roach? Why cant he fight GGG and prove that?

LOL. How did I know you were gonna mention Mosley?? Mosley was a good win but nowhere near the level of beating GGG right now. Im glad we agree that a win over GGG would be the best win of his career point blank. So in that aspect Cotto can strive to be "great" as well if he so chooses to. Leave the Sergio discussion alone, its old already. Was watching an interview from last month about him and he says he still feels pain in his knees LOL. But yeah, lets leave that alone.

Dudes are crying for GGG to be legitmized in THEIR eyes by beating a small Cotto.

Come on man. Raise your standards and stop getting caught up in shiny objects. A REAL fan wants to see a REAL fight.

If shiny belts are your thing, admit it and go watch WWF.
So you had no problem with Cotto beating a crippled guy that could hardly crawl up into the ring his knees were that bad on the night of the fight? Come on, Cotto should go ahead and bow out, relinquish the belt, and move on with his career. Right or wrong? He would be beat into submission within 2 rds against Golovkin?
