Cotto dare to be great? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

you saying that cotto has * on his wins?

Please explain and don't use sergio either. Remember, sergio was supposed to win the fight.

We're never gonna see eye-2-eye on this because the basis of your argument is a belt. You're entitled to your opinion. But personally, I've advanced to a level of fandom where the fighter makes the belt. The belt doesn't make the fighter. I'm capable of taking a rational step backwards and seeing that Cotto is a jr middleweight, who because of boxing politricks, got a shot at a champion that at the stage he got him, probably wasn't even one of thw top 5 fighters in his division any more. I'm also advanced enough as a fan that I know Cotto has ZERO to do with the middleweight landscape. And of those currently in the legitimate middleweight landscape, GGG has the best resume. So it makes no difference to me if Cotto has 50 belts and GGG had none. The resumes, and common sense dictate that GGG is THE MAN at 60, and Cotto is a one-n-done. And the only reason he's holding thst belt is so he'll have a bargaining chip when it comes to trying to make fights with the Floyds and Canelos of the world. Guys who offer paydays that GGG simply can't at this stage of his career.

The Sergio fight was the only one i was referring to. It is a win not without controversy whichever way you put it. A good number of people thought he was a shell of himself because of his injuries. Obviously you dont think so because you worship the man. But thats been already argued to death.

Please tell me one win on Cottos resume that would be better if he were to defeat GGG. Go ahead ill wait.

Unfortunately for Cotto, he holds the WBC belt and he only has one voluntary defense of it. After that, he defends against GGG or vacates. And his problem is that WBC want GGG as their champion, not Cotto because GGG is a fighting champion and will bring in much more money in sanctioning fees than just about any other boxer out there. WBC have been promoting GGG non-stop for almost a year now, and I have never seen them promote Cotto at all since he won the title.

Face it, no one wants Cotto holding the WBC title, not even the WBC itself. It's an embarrassment.

By the way... Cotto is making $50 million over his next three fights no matter who he fights. Guaranteed by Roc Nation. So he can fight Bradley or he can be a man and fight GGG. His payday will be the same either way.

            • One could understand why Cotto could care less for this fight. Cotto has reached the stage where he's basically saying: **** all y'all. It's called the Floyd stage.

Its more than a belt man. Its the NAME. Cotto just happens to have a belt which is a justifiable reason to chase him. If a Lemieux or a N'dam had the lineal belt it would be more about the belt then anything else. GGG wants to display his talents to a much larger audience.

Thats why he is chasing the likes of Cotto, Canelo, Chavez jr because those fighters bring in the numbers. Cotto is ahead of Canelo and Chavez jr in terms of whose being chased first because he has the belt. Sergio was the consensus MW champion of the world for 3-4 years, yet he was still chasing a guy who wasnt even on the pound for pound list for all the sole reason that that guy was popular. Guys like Ward and Froch are good fighters but not tremendous draws either.

Maybe Froch a little but his popularity is based solely in the UK.

He can fight the winner of May-Pac for all I care. He can fight his own shadow which is actually more likely if Roc Nation actually think they can find a fight that will make them a profit on their ridiculous contract. Cotto may never see the inside of a ring again, just like Ward! They will be bench sitters, poster boys for Roc Nation Boxing. Never actually fighting anyone, just bragging about the incredible contracts they have. But which they have never made a cent from because they have never fought since signing them.
I'm sorry dude but you are an absolute Cotto hater, you start your comment by saying your not and then you do nothing but hate on the guy with every single word after. Typical hater I get the feeling you'll follow Cotto down to 154 and continue your hate no mater what the guy does.

                    • Just like GGG, Cotto fights whoever the hell he wants. GGG's manager and promoter are the only ones in the industry who constantly go to the press to whine about the fact that another fighter won't fight their fighter. Just as GGG refuses to fight Ward, Cotto refuses to fight GGG. There are plenty of other quality fighters out there who are willing to fight GGG. Ward, Froch and (at one point) Kessler are all available and willing to fight GGG. Instead of challenging one of those guys, he chose to fight second-tier fighters while whining about the fact that Cotto and Alvarez won't fight him.
