He's a guy that fights on ESPN. He's a guy that only has two scheduled ten round fights on his resume. He's a pathetic choice of a opponent. Just own it and keep push'n.
I don't see anyone here saying he is a great choice. But of those available, and willing to actually take the fight, he is probably the best choice. Golovkin wants to fight, his fans want to see him fight and this is much better prep to fight a southpaw than sparring in the gym. Those who are not interested don't have to watch. Do what I do with the Haymon PBC cards, just change the channel.

And by the way... GGG is not the one who makes the choices, his team does.

I love K2 reasoning this , hes been on espn 4 times and he's slick and a W over Vera. Yup sounds like he deserves to fight the best MW in the world

So what are the odds going to be 60-1 80-1 , but it's a good fight though.
Just comes down to who is available. Everyone else is fighting someone else, can't fight GGG or on HBO or the Haymon problem. Go down the list from 168 to 154. Find someone available for May. We already knew before this was announced it would be Monroe, Johnson, or Heiland based on who was available.

And how long ago was this? Yeah, I thought so.
        2 fights ago...

Ok so Cotto fights GGG and if he loses then what is left for GGG? With or without fighting Cotto this is where he will be a linear champion with no dance partners, because everyone else will be gunning for Lee's belt.

So this guy is supposed to sit on the sidelines and wait for Cotto to get off his vagina and fight him...he's been waiting on Cotto a year. Maybe just maybe instead of wasting your time critiquing this guy how about fanbiotches hit up miguel cotto and ask him why this man was available and instead he seems to be focused on picking 147 lb fighters for his next defense as LINEAL CHAMPION AT 160!!! Mofo's on this site are some of the biggest f'ing critics on the internet the funny thing is if GGG had been holding Cotto up for a f'ing year they'd be crying bloody ducking.

2 fights ago in GGG time means Dec 2014. 2 fights ago Ward time means Sept 2012. It's all relative.

The current state of affairs is that Haymon fighters do not fight on HBO. If you have evidence to the contrary that is less than a year old, please feel free to share it.

Sounds like GGG's people are looking for a soft touch.

Outside of that, there wasn't really much else so this always seemed destined to be a **** fight.
Of course they didn't. Remember it was HBO that cut off Haymon not the other way around. HBO wouldn't come back running just for an opponent for GGG. Pride is a motherf...

You have Lara, Mayweather, Ward and Cotto in your favorite fighters. We all know you weren't a fan.
