Andre Berto just finished fighting Juan Urango on may 30th, 2009. Mosley just beat plasterito on january 2009. So if floyd already announced his fight with JMM on may 2nd, which was "confirmed". How can mosley have a fight "lined up"?
But we know why Floyd fought JMM in his comeback-he was #2 p4p and everyone was comparing pac to Floyd.

If you guys admit that the reason Manny struggled against Marquez is because Marquez is a counter puncher and the reason why Manny dominated other opponents is because they were aggressive. What makes you think Manny can beat a bigger, faster, counter puncher in Mayweather?
If Floyd's size, speed, and style made for a terrible matchup for Marquez what makes you think it won't be a terrible matchup for Manny, Someone who is known to struggle with counter punching?

JMM walked thru hell and back to land those punches he did on Pac. He took risks that Floyd will never take. You cant beat Pac being a passive counterpuncher. You have to bring it to him while he's bringing it to you. The question is, will Floyd bring it or will he play it safe?
Next even if what you assume is correct. That Marquez had to take a risk to land those punches, did you take into account reach? Did you take into account speed? Did you take into account that Floyd throws lots of straight right hands and then moves out of the danger zone? While Marquez threw lots of slow looping hooks and overhand rights?
Im not understanding how this guy had this much problems with a slower and smaller counter puncher. But he's not going to have as much problems with a longer and faster counter puncher. It just sounds like it gets worse for him. It sounds like if he is the aggressor then Mayweather can time him and land right hands and stay out of the danger zone. Unlike Marquez who is slower and has smaller reach. It sounds like the worst kind of fighter Pacqiuao could face.

I don't care who was p4p whatever.... mosley at that time was the number 1 welterweight after beating plasterito. A lightweight who was "p4p #2" or the reigning WW concensus number 1, who also happened to have a title. Who would you fight and be honest with yourself.

Here is another big problem for Pacquiao. I think Mayweather will be too comfortable in the ring. Pacquiao doesn't rough guys up against the ropes. He doesn't fight dirty or try to hold and hit. He likes to move, throw combinations, etc. All of the guys Mayweather fought his last 3 fights tried to make it an ugly fight which was to their advantage. Because you won't outbox Mayweather. It's not going to happen. He's a dominant out fighter. You're not going to beat Mayweather trying to box from the outside. Even if you're the aggressor you have to try and rough him up. If you don't he's going to avoid your punches. Maidana throwing all that wild **** was the best chance he had. He's going into this fight with a punchers chance. That's it. Because he just doesn't have enough advantages in the fight.

I get your point. My point is he came back after 2 years and fought a guy who gave the guy people said was his rival a tough time.
I don't see the issue in not fighting Mosley in the comeback fight.
