Heiland isn't going 6, wonder how much HBO will dish out for this card.
GGG vs Heiland

A fight that wasn't ever going to happen (Froch) and a fight that business screwed up (Chavez Jr).
If you want to use those only two example, because Team Golovkin refused to even acknowledge Ward's existence before he was 15 months out of the ring and the belief that ringrust may have finally set it became obvious, to justify the continuing with the 15:1 fights and calling out Mayweather/Cotto (clearly smaller fighters) and Alvarez (a fighter, who has the potential, but has yet to fill out into a true middleweight), so be it. lolComment

Because now Golovkin is coming to the table with HBO's backing/money. You add that Sturm is already 36, 14 years into his pro career, and the risk/reward calculus is quite different.Sturm ducked GGG as a middleweight so what makes you think he would be interested as a SMW? And in case you haven't been following the program, Golovkin is not interested in moving up for anything other than a PPV fight. Sturm - GGG is not a PPV in the US which is where GGG wishes to make his name.
Golovkin-Sturm is a PPV fight in Germany, draws interest in the US and UK, and draws pretty well throughout the rest of Europe. US PPV or not, Golovkin-Sturm gets him closer to being a PPv fighter than fighting the three names that have been bantered around for him.Comment

Sturm is already scheduled to fight Fedor Chudinov on 5/9. He's clearly then going after Robert Stieglitz/Arthur Abraham. This is not an option.Because now Golovkin is coming to the table with HBO's backing/money. You add that Sturm is already 36, 14 years into his pro career, and the risk/reward calculus is quite different.
