    Yep. There's a casual at my job who when I first joined I used to always chat boxing with. I saw his interest wane and then disappear over time but he caught the Swift-Salka fight on a night where I guess nothing else was on and he was like, "Dude! Who is that kid? That Garcia? Wow!" I didn't bother to tell him how ****ty of a matchup it was and I bet he's front and center on April 11th.
    Yes I had some cousins who had never seen him until the mayweather undercard and they were like who's this kid he is pretty good.whens the last time you think there was this many people watching boxing feels like boxing is on evey sports network these days. This is the beginning of a renaissance I feel.

          I think comparisons to other sports are a bit premature. It was the first show and there are going to be a couple more within the next month. We'll know a lot more then and, more important, we're getting a lot of boxing on TV regardless of what channel it's on.
          Garcia will never be a star. Thurman has the persona, and some skills, but he is like GGG. Who will test him at 147? Unlike GGG, there are fighters who can beat him, but is he big enough to fight?

              Spike had some COPS on in primetime:

              COPS SPIKE 9:00 PM 0.831 0.3
              COPS SPIKE 9:30 PM 0.869 0.2

              Looking ahead to Friday, it looks like Spike schedule is four episodes of COPS leading into PBC followed by two more episodes of Cops.

              Paramount Network is home to boundary-pushing scripted and non-scripted shows, featuring unforgettable characters and immersive stories on Yellowstone, Bar Rescue, Ink Master and more.


              So... not much of a lead-in.

              As for the ratings specifically for the PBC fight card will do on Spike, the closest comparison on the channel I guess would probably be Bellator...although you'd certainly like to see the PBC do better ratings than Bellator.

              According to this link, their most recent show did 872k, their second highest rated showings...and below it is a list of their rantngs on Spike...

                Haymon has to use whatever budget he has to fill 20 NBCUniversal (NBC/NBCSN), the 30 Sp1ke dates, the dates for CBS/CBS Sports, the dates on BounceTV, the rumored dates for ESPN, propsective dates on Telemundo/BET, with only additional money coming in being the rights fees for the Showtime fights and any net revenue that can be generated from the actual events.

                Money is finite, especially with what looks to be 80-100 shows to fill.

                  Just a few sources, but meeting that figure (for a show that hopefully proves to continue being the top program for the 18-49 demo) isn't so ridiculous a stretch. Will come down to one of Haymon's companies selling the ads, but covering $3m isn't some impossible proposition.

                    When Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez squares off against top-ranked contender Junior Dos Santos on Nov. 12, the fighters will be making history.

                      ABC's late college football game, according to your numbers, was able to bring in ~$160k for a 30-second spot. The UFC on Fox 1 (for their debut show for Fox, with the heavyweight championship on the line) was able to bring in ~$100k, and that fight happened in 2011. If the ABC number holds up for general sports, you're basically looking at a 40%-50% increase in what's being charged for spots.

                      $100k per 30-second spot, for a show that will be well hyped with marketable fights, isn't all that ridiculous an ask, especially if that lead in the 18-49 demo holds up.
