The ABC titles are a joke now anyway. PBC belts would be just as legit as the ABC titles mean so goddamn little.
I don't mind if the current titles are phased out because there are 4+ titles and they're a joke half the time.... but then making titles that are open for your organization and then saying you're the champion of the world when you win it?

    Nahhhhh

Like what does their Top 10 list even look like right now? They don't have enough PBc fighters to flesh out a list

I don't what PBC's actual goals are but from the little things such as fighters without their entourage, the belts not being given proper recognition, specific music for the fighters coming out, etc.. etc.. All those minor changes are beginning to create a gap between Haymon's boxing and the rest of the sport. The worst part of this entire ordeal is that if it fails to launch and or it crumbles in the future, dozens upon dozens of quality fighters would be bound to the sinking ship.

Change is something that takes some time getting used to, and at times some folk never come around. However, if change is good or innovative in a manner in which it would benefit the general populace, eventually it will succeed against all odds and establish itself as the main source. The fact that PBC is the vision of the sport specifically from one man's point of view is what bothers me.

This reminds me of the censorship for music CD's . Sure the material/product is available for an infinitely wider audience, but the core/essence of what the individual artists were attempting to convey in their music has been filtered. Thus, the public that buys that filtered content is now listening to a watered down version of the artist's initial views.

Broner was being kept tame, but when he was on HBO/Sho his persona was what garnered him most of the attention he was receiving. It's as if they are muting the fighters and are bringing them out specifically for one thing, fighting. How could they branch out and expand their brand if they can't be themselves and are forced to read from a script? It just doesn't make sense to me. Perhaps in the future things will come together but as of now, I'm not so sure what to think.

They prefaced the show by saying the focus is on fighters not belts.

The PBC would be crazy not to phase out the orgs. Each of the orgs charge a 5% fee to the champions and they're a joke more than half the time when it comes to rankings and multiple champions. Even if the PBC fails, I hope they cause either major damage or major change to how the belts are handled.

Before they can declare their own champions they need to establish their brand. It took the UFC a few years after the Fertitta's took it over for them to have their own champions, even took Pride a few years before they could establish a ranking system and then eventual champion per weight class.

One thing that could speed this up is if the PBC did away with the intermediate weight classes like 154, 140, 130. Consolidate the talent.

Did you not hear the opening monologue where they specifically said this isn't about belts

They would have to because they don't have enough people for all those weight classes... but if they had everyone move up or down, then they start to flesh out more.

Agreed. The ABC org's probably wont get phased out, but PBC doing this is going to force them to get their ish together.

It was just REALLY weird when they announced the judges decision in the Thurman fight and Dan Birmingham held up the WBA regular title. Those security dudes in blue jumped on him ASAP and made him put the belt down lol.

If they don't want any focus on the alphabet belts, that's cool. They just shouldn't have let Thurman's team bring the belt out to the ring. The security having them put the belt down just looked shady as hell lmao

Is it good well think of this now there will be 4 belts and interim belts/what not go ahead and add PBC champs to that list it's just splintering the sport even more.

They going to need 10 fighters per division to make a UFC
