You're right.. He's already established at 147 and settled in. The loser of Garcia/Peterson is ok.

I would too. I would like to see Guererro vs. any TR Welterweight (Bradley, Chaves, Rios) but we won't see that happen. Guererro would be an excellent test for Sadam Ali or Errol Spence Jr., but I don't see that happening. You know what will probably happen, Guerrero vs. Berto 2.

Chaves is with Golden Boy I believe, not Top Rank... so he's a possibility. I think it'd be a good fight.

By Allan Fox: Top Rank is on the verge of signing #10 IBF welterweight Diego Chaves (23-2, 19 KOs) to a contract. Chaves was beaten by a controversial 9th round disqualification last Saturday against Top Rank promoted fighter Brandon Rios (32-2-1, 23 KOs) at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After the fight, Chaves said via ***************.com “I have a preliminary contract with Top Rank. I’m pretty sure I’ll be on their cards.”

Of course, Chaves will be on Top Rank’s cards if they ink him. This will be an interesting addition to the Top Rank stable if they do add the hard hitting Chaves to their team, because he’s a fighter in the same mold as Marcos Maidana and Lucas Matthysse in terms of fighting style and punching power. He’d be a potential cog that Bob Arum could plug in for fights against the likes of Manny Pacquiao, Ruslan Provodnikov, Mike Alvarado and Tim Bradley.

Is Guererro better than Rios, Bradley, and Algeri? I would say Bradley is better, but after seeing Ruslan dismantle Bradley, I would say Guererro is better than all 3.

Based on what? What's he ever done for you to come to that conclusion? Soto Karass dominated and made easy work of the two guys who Guerrero beat in order to get the Mayweather fight in the first place.

I guess, in all honesty, Guererro is really a B-level fighter. I'll admit that. But when you compare what Guererro did compared to what Bradley, Rios, or Algeri did, then he has to be AT LEAST equal, or greater (In my opinion) to what Bradley, Rios, or Algeri did. I think Guererro's path to Mayweather was much tougher, or AT LEAST as tough, as Bradley, Rios, and Algeri's path to Pacquiao. And last but not least, Guererro just went the distance with the guy that KO'd Chaves. Bradley just went the distance with Chaves. If you think Guererro was over-hyped for beating Berto, what was Bradley doing fighting Joel Casamayor? Rios and Algeri weren't even welterweights, much less welterweight champions.

Bradley was robbed against Chaves.
Bradley clearly won the fight 8-4. AND The only ONLY reason why it was closer that it was because Bradley was fighting with 1 eye.

Rios and Algieri have done absolutely nothing at 147.

Regardless of what you think of Guerrero's work at 147 it craps all over Rios or Algieri.

But what about Bradley "at this weight?" Bradley was a good fighter at 140, but his 147 career is weak. You just said that he beat "an aging Marquez." What is Marquez's record "at this weight?" Manny was robbed by Bradley, and without that robbery, Bradley is no better than Guererro "at this weight."

Guerrero's skill and ranking is close/similar to that of Rios, Chaves, Peterson, Maidana and Porter.

They all don't have any signature wins at 147. Even maidana.. a win over career lightweight in Broner isn't all that impressive if you're looking it as a true welterweight fight.
