I dunno, now ESPN is reporting it as well, and they got a quote straight from Cotto.
http://www.espn.com.ar/news/story/_/id/2314844/cotto-$50-millones-por-tres-peleas
"Tenemos un acuerdo de tres peleas por 50 millones de dólares", dijo Cotto. "Cosa que entendemos que es muy razonable para mi carrera y para el que esté en el poder. Dicho esto, creo que no había nada más que pensar. Yo solamente quiero lo mejor para mí y lo mejor para mi familia. No hay otra cosa que me interese más. A Miguel Cotto lo que lo mueve siempre es su familia. Eso lo es todo".
Can't be bothered to translate, sorry.Comment

Roc Nation is a fledgling company with a handful of fighters and a limited track record of putting on actually shows.
If you expected Roc Nation to not have to pay some kind of premium to get the third biggest star in the sport, you're kidding yourself.Comment

Haymon, Top Rank, Golden Boy, Roc Nation and others will be scouring around for that next potential star, with money to boot.Comment

But it's not PPv... Canelo-cotto is PPv fight,,, it would be ****** to make it in May right after the biggest PPv ever... June or July is much betterComment

No way this is true, Cotto is not worth near that much coming off the PPV failure of the Martinez fight.
Also, he was offered $10 million guaranteed plus the bigger slice of the PPV pie. He most likely would have still made more than these fake numbers if he had nutted up and taken has ass whipping from Canelo like man...Comment

That's still next year though... since the Shaw split they signed one Mexican prospect... and just tried to take other people away from other promotersComment

Oscar said all along the only thing that would move them off May 2 was Pac/May. They still could have made the fight for a different date if Cotto didn't go into ***** mode.Comment
