Yeah but cotto was just chilling until floyd made his decision... Cotto would have most likely scored a floyd rematch had manny/floyd fallen thru... Cotto wasn't going to agree to a Canelo fight until he was certain not to get floyd... Canelo didn't want to wait, signed for Kirkland in May, floyd/manny is done, so cotto just now is becoming available.. I think the biggest thing that killed the fight was the timing of Floyd's decision. It was so late that canelo was forced to move on and cotto was forced to sit idle for the time being... Plus cotto obviously had roc nation talking with him and so anytime a fighter is contemplating making a huge deal like that, they aren't gonna sign some huge fight beforehand and jeopardize the offer on the table...

I still think we will see cotto vs canelo by the end of the year.. Probably in the fall... Oscar and golden boy are one of the few promoters willing to work with roc nation which is key...

No need to rush things, especially with the money apparently already in hand.

Ward in April, Cotto in June (hope that having those two under your umbrella opens up a path to HBO, or at least expanding that FS1 deal) and then two more shows, a show each, with Ward and Cotto. Showcase Dusty Hernandez (and their other fighters) on at least those four shows, and then hope to cash in on some of the top prospects.

I doubt it's as cut as dry as 3 for fiddy, if it's even that much.

Most likely stipulations, minimum "asses in seats/eyes on tv sets" required.

Not even Jay-Z would risk pissing 20-30 million away.

          Thought as much.

Roc have actually got boxing guys involved in their company at the top end, that's why I'm skeptical of this report.

Cotto probably got himself a good deal, but I doubt it's astronomical as reported.

Canelo thought that he was in a position to dictate terms to Cotto, and he wasn't.

Cotto felt like he was being pushed by the B-side, so he called his Golden Boy's bluff, watching Canelo flop on his face and trying to sell $10 tickets.

I think this will make Canelo vs Cotto more of a possibility to happen. If that isn't the case then he will get two tune ups(a habit of his) and then Roc Nation will be pissed and force him to fight someone with a pulse.

Translation: "Bob Arum can say Cotto is a ****sexual, but he's doesn't have one ****** hair."

                    • number doesn't seem plausible. unless he fights big names they'll lose a fortune on this ... and of course if he fights big names he'll lose so...
