Cotto needs to fight Canelo or GGG next, nothing else matters. I really don't like him being the "lineal Champion." It's BS. Everyone knows he won the Middleweight Championship under circumstances that heavily favored him. He's a paper champion as far as I'm concerned!

I don't blame Cotto at all, for years he fought toughfights under the top rank banner for little money. At this stage of his career his legacy is cemented..he wants some big money fights.....everyone knows that GGG is way too big for him and it wouldn't be competitve. That fight makes know sense...Make your money Miguel.... you earned it! F the haters....

I've said it on other threads and I'll say it here again...........Roc Nation appears to be similar to Haymon in some ways, particularly that they are taking care of the talent first.
If one guy in the sport, highly intelligent like Andre Ward, particularly after losing almost two of his best years due to Goosen-Tutor made the decision to go with Roc Nation, he clearly did his due-dilligence and made damn sure it was the right thing.
Say what you will about Haymon, although I wish he would play nicer with others, but the only people that don't seem to like him are those that don't fight for him. I remember Guererro and Paulie *****ing about him......then they were signed and seem pretty damn happy. And the mass exodus from Golden Boy??
Now Cotto, another person who clearly would make no decision without serious deliveberation after what he's been through, who also has plans for the future and his MC Promo company, this is clearly a big deal. Paricularly given all the years with Top Rank where Arum essentially did what he always does, moved Pac along carefully, gave him one test in Zab, a REAL test in Mosley that I saw as a draw every time I've watched it, then put him in with Margarito.
Following what could have potentially been a career runing loss, put him in tough with Clottey, then used him in a catchweight vs Pac in a clearly bad situation for him and his mental state at the time........
At any rate, if Haymon and Roc Nation can stay away from Network wars and work together, we could see a changing of the guard that has been a long time coming and if done right, could do wonders for the sport.
I like this move. Cotto gets a little padding for June to get the PR Day parade win before deciding on GGG. Then goes on from there......
I'm all for TR and GBP becoming afterthoughts similar to Shaw, Tutor-Goosen, Duva, etc. I believe within a couple years, to remain relevant all the promoters will have to work with the 'NEW GUARD' to remain relevant. And if they don't take care of their talent, they will walk upon contract completion.
I belive Bradley is gone the minute his TR extension is up. Provodnikov, Rios, Garcia are likely to follow........TR isn't looking good for the future as Arum cashes out on his prize in May.
I'm all for this. I hope Roc Nation and Haymon do the right thing for the fighters and that includes working together to make the best fights regardless of Network.
