Better to defend his title than fight a random guy at 168. Only people worth fighting there are Chavez, Ward, Froch, Kessler and none of those guys are available. Same with DeGale, Dirrell and Bika as well.

Random guy at 168 is better than another Adama/Ishida type of guy at 160.

An example is Arthur Abraham, he is not a random guy, he's a champ, but a beatable champ and a better puncher and has a better chin than anyone at 160. AA has flaws but his strengths make for the most interesting GGG fight to date.
