Tureno this guy just got KO by stevens what the hell I'd rather he fight once or twice a good opponent than fight four clowns
The HBO GGG opponent list for May

Better to defend his title than fight a random guy at 168. Only people worth fighting there are Chavez, Ward, Froch, Kessler and none of those guys are available. Same with DeGale, Dirrell and Bika as well.Comment

Tureno sucks I can't believe hbo would pay for that.Monroe is best opponent for Golovkin based on styles, he's a good boxer and he can make Golovkin work. Johnson would be the most fan friendly. However, I like Monroe but he's not ready yet. I rather GGG fight Johnson, Monroe gets some more experience and fight GGG later if/when he racks up a couple good wins.Comment

I said he could fight someone at 168 who is at the same caliber as Johnson/Monroe/etc to at least make the contest somewhat interesting.
What he's going to do after he wins his May fight at MW? There is nothing there for him.Comment

random guy at 168 > random guy at 160
The belt means absolutely nothing to the viewers.Comment

It's likely a cheap fight and Golovkin brings solid ratings so I don't see why not.
It's either Golovkin flights a top 10-15 guy now, and then fight again in a bigger fight hopefully a unification just 2-3 months later or not fight at all. Nothing wrong with staying busy and defending the title against the highest ranked guys available. The WBC billed Macklin Vs. Heiland as the next eliminator for the WBC. So it's actually probably better to fight him now before they make Heiland mandatory which they probably will if Cotto doesn't fight Golovkin and gets stripped his title, they'll make GGG vs Heiland for the vacant title.Comment
