Hopkins was set to break the middleweight defense record.

Why would he move to 168 and go to the backyard of an unacomplished sheltered fighter who had yet to beat a list of credible contenders in his own division?

Nothing you're trying so badly to say has any truth or sense to it.

You keep dancing around the fact that there's a LIST of fighters that Calzaghe DIDN'T fight, and somehow, it's EVERYBODY's fault BUT Calzaghe that didn't happen.

The guy was a bordeline NOBODY years back. He had no marquee wins, and didn't even have one of the major 3 titles in his own division.

Get out of here. You're full of ****.
I thought the thread read "Why do some think RJJ is a bum?"
Why not answer the ****ing question, or stay out of the thread if you don't have one. I posted my opinion as to why some people don't give him his due, what's yours, troll?

Obsessive hate for Jones? Lol! That coming from You?? Crazy. Anybody can see that you need help, I'm not saying that in a nasty way but your genuine obsessive hatred for Joe Calzaghe is quite over the top and we can all see that. I give my honest opinion on Jones, which is unbiased, and contains truths. He is grossly over-rated.
Bozo is using logic & making sense.

You are just a drunk, biased, obsessed lunatic.

It mind just have something to do with the fact that the fans want to see the best against best, huh? Don't people want to see a guy who is rated "better than Sugar Ray Robinson" for beating the 'Nigel Benn wannabe' Richard Hall actually in with a live opponent who could beat him?? ARE YOU CRAZY or what?

Who represented a bigger challenge to Jones than Calzaghe? Jones himself would call you a lunatic, by the way.

To fight somebody worth a damn, you fool. People want to see the best against the best, not the best against the worst.

As for 'unaccomplished and yet to beat a list of credible contenders in his own division', well I suppose the Eubank, Brewer and Mitchell fights didn't happen then? He beat five former world champions, cleaned out the division of those who had the balls to face him, and looked damn good doing so.

Reid, Starie, Sheika, Woodhall, Veit - all very good fighters (unless your Bozo No No, ofcourse). Admittedly the Reid and Starie performances were poor, due to a hand injury. But the Sheika, Woodhall and Veit performances were nothing short of brilliant.

Roy Has Looked Like A Bum In His Last Three Fights, But He Was The Last Fighter Youd Call A Bum Upto And Including The Ruiz Fight

He Finally Proved He Had A Set Of Balls By Taking On A Heavyweight Then Going All The Way Back Down To Lightheavyweight And Standing Toe To Toe With Tarver, It Was A Long Time Coming But He Finally Earned My Respect

Then, you take Jones, who does have a very good overall resume, is a lock for the Hall of Fame, and is one of the greatest fighters of his generation,

and you come in hating and critisizing. Does that "boggle your mind"? Or do you still not get it?

The point is, you're a hypocirte, and you're supporting something in one case and critisizing in another case.

IT COMES DOWN TO LUCK IN A WAY

ROY WAS A PRETTY LUCKY FIGHTER ID SAY, CALZAGHE SEEMS LIKE HE WAS A VERY UNLUCKY FIGHTER

BUT WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT ROY WAS PROBABLY NEVER ANY BETTER THAN JOE CALZAGHE ON ACTUAL ABILITY !

This always goes back to the same point: Calzahge spent the majority of his career doing NOTHING talking about how everyone was avoiding him, when he was the one sitting in his backyard fighting nobodies.

He didn't even unify a title at 168 until a week ago, and had a list of fights available to him in his own weight class that he didn't take,

yet eveyone is supposed to but that he was calling out pound for pound elite that was ducking him?

                    Come off it.

Anything you have to say about this topic might as well be coming from Calzaghe's mum, or someone that Roy Jones stole somthing from.

You are filled with biased, ignorant crap.
"POUND FOR POUND ELITE" IS BULL****

IT OFTEN COMES DOWN TO WHO GETS THE LUCK OF THE DRAW, WHO GETS THE RIGHT FIGHTS

ROY JONES NEEDED JAMES TONEY TO BECOME A POUND FOR POUND ELITE, BERNARD HOPKINS NEEDED FELIX TRINIDAD TO BECOME A POUND FOR POUND ELITE, JOE CALZAGHE NEEDED ROY JONES OR BERNARD HOPKINS TO BECOME A POUND FOR POUND ELITE BUT THEY PROLLY WOULDNT LET HIM HAVE HIS FIGHT ( TOO MUCH RISK FOR TOO LITTLE MONEY , EG CALZAGHE WASNT A BIG ENOUGH NAME OVER HERE )

ON A SIDENOTE, WHY ARE YOU WRITING SO MANY ESSAYS GIVING YOUR VIEWS ON JOE CALZAGHE IN A THREAD THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE TALKING ABOUT ROY JONES JUNR ?

JOE CALZAGHE CERTAINLY EARNED MY RESPECY IN THE JEFF LACY FIGHT, AND ITS CLEAR TO ME THAT THE GUY HAS ABILITY AND PROBABLY ALWAYS DID HAVE BUT WE OVER HERE WERETOO PIG IGNORANT TO RECOGNISE THE MOST TALENTED EUROPEAN FIGHTER ( JOE CALZAGHE )

AND BOZO MY MAN IF CALZAGHE STILL HASNT EARNT YOUR RESPECT THEN YOU ARE IN THE MINORITY MY FRIEND

Jones is not a bum, but he is overrated. Also the Jones nut-huggers are as bad as any nut-hugger I've ever seen.
