    De La Hoya vs Pacquiao?

Was there a re hydration clause for this fight?

Watching old 24/7's of both Pacquiao and Mayweather to get hyped for the fight and in the first Pacquiao Hatton episode Roach explains how right before their fight he saw IV marks on Oscar's arm and fresh blood still there and goes on to say that "they rehydrated him after they've weighed him in the dressing room"... sound fishy?

I know "officially" there wasn't a rehydration clause but I wouldn't put it past team Pacquiao to have requested a non disclosure agreement so that Oscar couldn't reveal the clause to preserve the legitimacy of the fight (They have a track record of requesting quite ridiculous things in contracts like Oscar's $3million per pound over 147 and Floyd's $10million penalty)

And the whole theory that "Oscar messed up his weight cutting is quite ridiculous. Oscar hadn't fought at 147 since 2001 every pound shed under 154 would've been torture.
The normal procedure would have been cutting to something like 157lb in training camp, dehydrate to make 147lb at the weigh in, then rehydrate immediately to around the 160lb mark on fight night- instead he was at 145lb at training camp, weighed in at 145 then waited until the next day in the dressing room to rehydrate with an IV drip and came in at 147 lol!

    So what do you think?

It makes no sense dela hoya was the star, the a side. I highly doubt Team Pac would have any say on something as important as that.

the fight was almost not made due to DLH's demands, why in the hell would he agree to such a clause. he controlled everything.

Yeah but I don't think team Pacquiao really wanted the fight as much as Oscar did. That was the difference. I remember Roach would say things like if Oscar came in overweight he would cancel the fight. It seemed like the only A-side perk Oscar had was the money split. Everything else seemed to favor the underdog, Pacquiao.

ODH's fight right before pacquiao was steve forbes at 150 lbs. I don't really see the problem with the fight at 147 cuz pacquiao was coming up from 135 lbs. They met in the middle.

What exactly are you up to this time?

You want to know about contract clauses on Oscar vs Pac yet you are watching Pac vs Hatton 24/7?

You're right, and his demands often were outrageous in previous fights.

I remember reading somewhere (I don't remember where and with what opponent/opponent's ) that he would have written in contract that his opponent couldn't have a goatee nor a beard/ or 5 o'clock shadow yet he would show up fight night with a 5 o'clock shadow.

Or his opponent couldn't wear his trunks high yet he would come in with his trunks well above his bellybutton which was in fact an abrasion to the rules.

Again, this was a long time ago and unfortunately I can't site the source and remember where I read this but talking to various boxing pundits they all seem to agree he did have some crazy demands and being that he was the 90's cash cow it was his way or the highway.

And to be quite honest, though Floyd gets a lot of heat of being a diva with a bleeding kotex DLH was the original diva in high heels and fish nets (no pun intended ).

No there was not a rehydration clause and Oscar could have weighed whatever he wanted on fight night. As you pointed out he made weight in a strange way and he was at or below 147 for days or maybe weeks before the fight. It hurt him and he tried to gain weight after the weigh in but was unable to.

Oscar was on that CoCo...wasnt eating or training right. He used some sort of diuretic then they tried rehydrate him with the IV after his body wouldn't allow him drink that much water to hydrate back up

It was a cherry pick gone wrong. Oscar thought he'd rehydrate, dominate Pacquiao and sail off into the sunset.

He couldn't, was drained, took a beating, and quit.

He got what he had coming to him, imo.
