Obviously he over trained and loss too much weight. Looking back it seems ****** but maybe Oscar's team assumed that beating Pacquiao would be easier if he lost more weight, making him lighter on his feet and faster. I think they over calculated how much weight would be beneficial. Oscar wasn't the same slick boxer puncher for many years before this fight. Oscar at his peak was very sharp, using great lateral movement, fast footwork, and the best jab/left hook in the business. Even at his monumental comeback win over Mayorga, Emmanuel Steward still said he looks and moves like an old fighter. Mayorga was just reckless and one dimensional, walked right into Oscars left.

He couldn't, was drained, took a beating, and quit.

He got what he had coming to him, imo.

Pretty much it John, this was intended to be a mismatch where Oscar was heavily favored to dominate and ko the natural FW but he screwed something up.

Margarito might actually have killed Oscar that night.

Speaking of him, it was part of the reason the Pac fight even took place because there was demand for Oscar to fight Tony after he looked so impressive against Cotto but Oscar chose this sideshow attraction against a dwarf on the rise who had a fanbase as a distraction rather than fight Margs.

Oscar wasn't even drained he just got his arse kicked by the superior fighter.

People have done a good job of crapping on that great win.

Are you dumb? DLH was the A-side by a country mile and if I remember correctly a massive 4-1 on favourite to win the fight.

Watching old 24/7's of both Pacquiao and Mayweather to get hyped for the fight and in the first Pacquiao Hatton episode Roach explains how right before their fight he saw IV marks on Oscar's arm and fresh blood still there and goes on to say that "they rehydrated him after they've weighed him in the dressing room"... sound fishy?

I know "officially" there wasn't a rehydration clause but I wouldn't put it past team Pacquiao to have requested a non disclosure agreement so that Oscar couldn't reveal the clause to preserve the legitimacy of the fight (They have a track record of requesting quite ridiculous things in contracts like Oscar's $3million per pound over 147 and Floyd's $10million penalty)

And the whole theory that "Oscar messed up his weight cutting is quite ridiculous. Oscar hadn't fought at 147 since 2001 every pound shed under 154 would've been torture.
The normal procedure would have been cutting to something like 157lb in training camp, dehydrate to make 147lb at the weigh in, then rehydrate immediately to around the 160lb mark on fight night- instead he was at 145lb at training camp, weighed in at 145 then waited until the next day in the dressing room to rehydrate with an IV drip and came in at 147 lol!

                      So what do you think?
