Off course you wouldnt see a problem lol .
Oscar was used to being 20 pounds bigger and had not been at 147 for over 10 yrs , he looked like sht at 150 and didnt make the weight which was disclosed by Roach .
But all this dont matter does it , Manny been weighing 144 on fight night since his 130 days , Oscar 160-165 on fight night for 10 yrs , both at 147 on fight night who benefits .
Manny fans are just so ignorant to weight .Comment

Oscar chose the weight to not make it seem like the cherrypick it was intended to be. Manny and his team can't be responsible for Oscar not preparing properly.Off course you wouldnt see a problem lol .

What has been said already in this thread, Oscar meeting Pacquiao at 147 was more then fair. It was supposed to be a cash grab easy win, while Manny was doing Bob a favor by accepting the mega fight even though he had little chance of winning. Roach though knew before hand that Oscar's reflexes were shot. He knew that with Manny constantly moving to the right of Oscars left hand, disarming him, and utilizing his own quick left would give Manny the edge. Also noted that Oscar had very little power in his right hand, and that Roach new Manny's straight left would be too much.Comment

If you are interested, here are a couple of good reads on what happened. Even days before the fight and after the fight, they say they were in great shape and weight was not the culprit.
Here are some points.
The biggest issue appeared to be that Oscar had issues with southpaws. He was having similar issues in training camp against certain sparring partners but (eg. Valero and Ortiz) were let go too early.
So Oscar was confused against Manny's style. Also, Manny hit Oscar clean several times early on in the fight and that was a wrap as he was also dazed.
"To ensure that he made weight, and that he was able to keep up with the pace and persistence of Pacquiao, de la Hoya plowed through an intense, eight-week training camp in Big Bear, California, but not before a pair of "mini-camps" in Puerto Rico."
"This training camp started roughly about four months ago," Oscar says. "I do mini-camps in between so that I'm always in pretty good shape"
"Oscar started camp in Big Bear at 156 with eight weeks of training ahead of him. Two weeks before fight night, Oscar was slim and trim at 145 pounds. Pacquiao has never fought heavier than 135."
"The diet was proper ..... Oscar was basically coming to the gym in top shape at 152 and leaving at 145 after 1 hour 20 minute workout."
By Brent Matteo Alderson - After Oscar De La Hoya was dominated, and eventually stopped in eight rounds by Manny Pacquiao on December 6 - a mountain of rumors began to circulate all over the boxing world. Rumors that Oscar overtrained to make the welterweight limit, rumors that he was beaten up by sparring partners Victor Ortiz and Edwin Valero, and rumors that he came to ring with absolutely no plan of attack. BoxingScene.com sat down with De La Hoya’s conditioning coach, Robert Garcia, to discuss all of the rumors, what exactly went wrong in De La Hoya’s fight with Pacquiao and whether or not De La Hoya has anything left in the tank. Garcia has been with De La Hoya since 2001.
When Oscar de la Hoya struts to center ring on Saturday (December 7) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, he’ll be staring down an opponent with a four-inch height disadvantage. Against any other man, he knows that he could probably jab his way to an easy victory, but against Phillipino sensation Manny Pacquiao — boxing’s…
