Who cares what the reaction would be? Still doesn't mean he thinks manny would definitely beat him. Maybe means maybe, nothing more. He admitted its a toss up.

All 3 of the first fights were similar 2 Floyd Castillo 1 no matter how much you want them to be Marquez wins.

3rd fight was close and the ringside observers were split 50/50.

1st fight could have gone to Pacquiao, 2nd was a toss up. 3rd Marquez was robbed even Manny said he underestimated Marquez.

But, as a trainer and competitor, you don't say things like that. Even if you think another fighter is better than or can beat your fighter, you just have to keep that thought to yourself. The fact that he said "Maybe" just shows that he wasn't confident that his fighter would win and there's nothing wrong with that, but to outright stated it like that to the public makes it blatantly obvious he wasn't confident of training Manny to beat Floyd five years ago. This isn't the first time that Roach has made a statement like this. There was another statement he made back then when he outright said they weren't ready for, Floyd.

Not only that but there's another article a few months back where Roach clearly said back in their primes he saw it as a 50/50 fight, now he says back then it was closer and maybe Floyd beats Pac... consistent with his view that it was a toss up back then, and these low IQ brussels sprouts sized brain modda****as can't comprehend it!

While I agree with you, he does have a point because if Sr or Roger would have said it then Pacquiao fans would have ran with that as meaning Mayweather was scared he would lose. Maybe doesn't sound confident no matter how it is or you look at it.

You can say he was robbed until you're blue in the face, it doesn't make it so.

The only apparatuses we have to determine a robbery are expert opinions and press row scores from respected members of the boxing community, as well as punch stats.

All of the respected press row scorers were pretty much split down the middle, consistent with a toss up fight, not only that but the punch stats were close, in fact Manny landed more power punches.

The fact is it was not a robbery.

In any task you set forth in in life, if someone asks you about it and you respond with a maybe?

Does that normally mean you will get the thing done for sure or is there real doubt and you are telling the person not to expect that outcome.

The correct fighting answer is "I would beat his ass on the moon, on a boat, tomorrow, yesterday, 5 years from now or 5 years ago".
