Exactly, he's saying it was a toss up. An objective observation. I'm not sure why that guy is running with that as if he said mayweather will definitely win.

Similar to what I said were stated by Floyd and his fans after the following fights:
- Maidana: He is too dirty. Ref had a bad night. He bit Floyd's pinky.
- Cotto: Floyd had the sniffles.
- Castillo: Floyd was fighting hurt.
- Every fight: Floyd uses his style (ie. passive) because his hands hurt him.
- Many fights: It took time for Floyd to adjust.

- Marquez vs Manny: Many Floyd fans say that Marquez must of won fight numbers 1 and/or 2 and/or 3 but don't talk that way when we saw Castillo dominate Floyd relatively speaking ..... so come May 2nd, you know what time it is.

Recent thread, Floyd fans were saying that Manny would more than likely win a close fight due to Arum and other reasons...... so come May 2nd, you know what time it is.

Even Pinoys said Marquez won the 3rd fight so much that Manny held a press conference to denounce anyone who is Pinoy and doesn't say he won. Plenty of Floyd fans acknowledge that Castillo 1 was either close, a draw, win for either or Mayweather barely took it but Floyd fans have the rematch to fall back on unlike Pacquiao with Marquez. Speaking for myself I have no history of posting excuses but I could make a hard cover book out of all the excuses Pacquiao fans make for him and his opponents.

What you talking about? So if very few Floyd fans say that Castillo beat Floyd then Castillo won? You will always get some who say different. The majority say otherwise.

1 was a razor thin win, draw was probably appropriate and Manny was not prime.

2 Manny was near enough prime and clearly won the fight imo.

That's the keyword in there...it doesn't mean it's an outright and flat out "losing". MAYBE...the fact that they didn't fight it's just pure speculation.

That's akin to saying Mayweather would school Pacquiao because Marquez KO'ed Pac...linear thinking doesn't necessarily transcend. LOGIC AND RATIONAL just doesn't happen on the ring all the time.

Otherwise encumbent champions would always be champions and would never lose - while challengers and newbies would never be great.

But, as a trainer and competitor, you don't say things like that. Even if you think another fighter is better than or can beat your fighter, you just have to keep that thought to yourself. The fact that he said "Maybe" just shows that he wasn't confident that his fighter would win and there's nothing wrong with that, but to outright stated it like that to the public makes it blatantly obvious he wasn't confident of training Manny to beat Floyd five years ago. This isn't the first time that Roach has made a statement like this. There was another statement he made back then when he outright said they weren't ready for, Floyd.

I don't think this will surprise anybody.

5 years ago I would have had this fight 95/5 in Mayweather's favour, he would have picked Manny apart. Now he is slower and his reflexes aren't what they were and its a close fight to call.

and do you think Pac is the same dude that he was 5 years ago? the dude lost his K.O power and was Brutally KTFO6.. he is NOT the same guy he was 5 years ago

Arguably Manny won the first fight but due to an error it was ruled a draw. Fight 1 and 2 could have gone either way. Fight 3 was clearer to more people that Marquez was robbed and the 4th Pacquiao got knocked out. Floyd Castillo 1..... could have gone either way but Floyd got the nod like (Pacquiao/Marquez 1&2) but difference is Floyd convincingly beat Castillo the second time while Pacquiao could not.

All 3 of the first fights were similar 2 Floyd Castillo 1 no matter how much you want them to be Marquez wins.
