Saying "well....... he's only doing it because he was forced to" doesn't make the "He will NEVER fight Pacquiao" any less wrong does it? It makes it seem like those ****** enough to make the first statement, have to make the second one to save face.
I hope that cleared things up for you. Any answer to the question? Why is the deal worth taking now for Team Pacquiao but a better one was ok to walk from previously? Would you forgive them for walking from this one for the same reason?Comment

Floyd put himself into too tight a corner and had to take the fight.
The network would accept nothing less.
All this TMT BS like 'Money, Power, Respect' means nothing in the face of a huge media network's wealth and influence.
Floyd was treated like any other precocious star - spanked, fluffed and sent back to work.
CBS just had enough of Floyd's constant BS and took the decision away from him.Comment

I think it's you that has a comprehension problem. The first statement is that the fight will NEVER happen, or that is what it implied. Some people were ****** enough to say Mayweather would NEVER fight Pacquiao (like they said about Canelo and Mosley etc....). Now he IS fighting him, that statement has been proved incorrect. Geddit?

Let say Oscar and Dela Hoya are two different person.
Oscar: The fight will never happen - statement 1
Dela Hoys: He was forced to do it - statement 2
You go argue with Oscar - Oscar is wrong you are are right
You go argue with Dela Hoya - Dela Hoya is wrong you are right.
This is your stand I guess right?
But the situation is Oscar and delahoya is one and the same.
His 2 statement compliment each other. one is wrong without the other in this situation.
The fight will never happen - the fight did not happen, so do you think there is a need for the second statement that "he was forced to do it? "
If dela hoya did not make the first statement like there is no "the fight will never happen"and then he maid a statement that he was forced to do it. then he was forced is wrong because on what basis will you say that he was forced to do it?
If this still can't make you realize where you made your mistake then Good luck on your future debates.Comment

Dude, that pitiful statement was you trying to make things simple? You're tying yourself in knots. If someone says something is not going to happen or is NEVER going to happen (as some on here have said), then it does happen, their assertion is wrong. The reason WHY they are wrong doesn't change the fact that they were wrong. What about that do you not understand? Many people thought the fight was never going to happen. Now it is. Some have just said, "I was wrong, but I'm just glad it's on because I love boxing" and others have said "well, I'm still half right because Mayweather was forced". (DOH)
Any thoughts to my question?
1. "The fight is never going to happen" this statement alone is wrong, because the fight is going to happen.
2. Reminder - that the fight is on May 2nd if things go wrong it may not happen. then the statement the fight is not going to happen becomes right. which makes you now wrong if you happen to make an statement that the fight is going to happen since it is not.
3. But the problem is Oscar followed up his statement that the reason fight is going to happen is that Floyd was forced to do it which make both statement right. Because again those two statement don't contradict each other. Botj statement compliment each other.
Look at number 2. You are wrong there, because between now and May 2nd things may go awry for let say injury or something. But if you followed up your statement with Floyd got a changed of heart and the fight is not happening then you will be right.
This will be my final explanation that's it!Comment

If he don't cherry picks - then he will not be pressured and forced into a fight
If he's not scared - then he will not be pressured and forced into a fightComment
