Floyd definitely cares what they have to say. There viewership and influence is huge over the sporting world. Whether it's mostly causals or not, what they say negative or not effects Floyd's picture. If he didn't care then why did he call Stephen A. last year and verbally assault him over saying Pacquiao is the only fight the fans will take? Yes Pac is older and yes Floyd is older. Probably would have been a much different fight 5 years ago. But both fighters are going strong and I think Pac has the obvious advantage here, given Floyd is 38 and not looking as sharp. If Floyd WANTED the fight five years ago it would have gotten made bottom line. Floyd didn't make it a priority and exclaimed that Pac's career and his career are alright without each other. Floyd knew what he was doing back then and knew good and well he would be taking a loss of respect for not making that fight happen since he makes his "own moves". He was perfectly okay with it because he knew he was technically the bigger star and would still be raking in millions. Now we have come to a crossroads and this fight either happens or he wouldn't have fought on May 2nd. If Arum, whether he was lying or not, didn't get the ball rolling for this fight to happen with **** talking, calling in Les Moonves, Manny's footlocker call out, and getting the boxing world at large to target Floyd's monopoly it would have never happened. And Also a special thanks to Canelo and Oscar for putting on the pressure.

I believe if it weren't for Arum and Oscar, the fight would have happened in March 2010......but because Manny was 'scared of needles' and 'Floyd can't make demands and isn't the NSAC, he has no right to request additional testing....' Blah, blah.....something that has almost become the norm for major fights that Floyd doesn't get enough credit for now, he then sought to fight the best available alternative, whichby far at the time was the linear WW champion by most accounts in Mosley while Pac fought Clottey....and also avoided Mosley at the time because he wouldn't go to 142....

Yes, he was pressured to fight on May 2nd. The same date Oscar wanted his fighter Canelo to fight on. He was pressured to only take 60% to Pacquiao's 40%. He was also pressured to being the only one that can announce that the fight is happening.

If only Mayweather had some say so in how is career is going.
