that would be monopolization of boxing. Which in hand can be good or bad. If its all "in house" fighting, even with the championship belts, and no "outsider" gets a shot, then its bad.

Ward fighting Lara would be the equivalent of Floyd vs Marquez...a guy 2 weight classes below but someone that has talent.. Then he can make it at 164 and just miss weight anyway lol...
People would kill Ward for taking this fight wouldn't they? But Floyd gets all kind of credit for the Marquez win at the same time... Weird..

Only the naive would buy that argument. If what you write is true, then the P4P list is without value, and comparing Andre Ward and what he has accomplished as a pro to Floyd Mayweather Jr. and what he has done as a pro is absurd. Go to BoxRec.com and compare their records. Look at the quality of opponents. Look at Floyd's consistent climb through the weight divisions - see Ward settle at super middleweight despite fighting light heavyweight in the Olympics; see how many of Floyd's opponents were smaller than or larger than he was - then try that with Ward. Now I've given you some obvious reasons that Ward cannot be compared with Floyd, but here's another; who fights for the largest purses, and who can't get strong fan support of his fights? Look, I like Andre Ward. From what I've read, he's a great family man, he's intelligent, and I like his style when working fights at ringside, but he's got to fight more frequently, he's got to avoid taking a GGG fight too early, and when he does fight GGG, he had better understand that he's facing a fighter the likes of which he's never before faced. The light heavyweight power that Ward has avoided fighting as a super middleweight will be in the ring the night he fights GGG, and it is GGG who will have this power. One more thing: if all P4P ranking place Ward as number one prior to his fight with GGG, that won't matter one bit once the fight begins.

Ward is fed up with boxing after more than 20 years in the sport -- he said that...
Though he has to earn his living.
On another hand: now who would want to fight Ward -- in Oakland, at 168? So far I didn't hear anybody calling for this...

Or Ward can fight 3 consecutive fights against guys coming up in weight like Pacquiao.

The same dudes that want Golovkin to move up are the same ones that praise Hopkins n Hagler for their MW reign.

A fight with Ward at 168 needs to be promoted, but a fight with Froch does not. Odd

If you read between the lines, what GGG's manager is actually saying is "HBO will only pay GGG to fight two or, at most, three more stiffs before they demand a fight with fight Ward."
