Yeah, Ward's target was April/May, that ain't happening as he doesn't have anything close and the schedule's filled up. At earliest now will be June (by which time GGG will have fought 2x this year), but he still has no viable options, especially given his financial demands.
Cedric Agnew just lost again, so that option's out the window. He wanted Periban for a couple mill, who was just KO'd by DeGale in 3 and hasn't won in 3 years, but for some reason HBO/Showtime wouldn't pay for it. No more buzz on the proposed Kessler fight.Comment

Ward's problem is he's unwilling to back-off his financial minimum which is around $2mill (I've heard rumors it's now higher as Roc Nation re-worked his contract). If he took a page from Golovkin's play-book, he could've had his two tune-ups on Fox in front of a larger audience and regained his momentum as a big name boxer.Comment

I'm guessing the end of 2016, at which point Ward will want another tune-up instead because he hasn't fought in a year and a half.Comment

im sure he wants ggg to move up first get that on resume and then kovalev...if he moves to 175 now he never gets the big fight with GGGComment

Kovalev has a better shot than ggg. I'm a ggg fan but he didn't impress me saturday. Ward eats ggg aliveComment
