Cedric Agnew just lost again, so that option's out the window. He wanted Periban for a couple mill, who was just KO'd by DeGale in 3 and hasn't won in 3 years, but for some reason HBO/Showtime wouldn't pay for it. No more buzz on the proposed Kessler fight.
is there anything stopping ward from fighting chudinov as his comeback?

Fedor Chudinov looks to be fighting Felix Sturm for the WBA interim title in Germany, probably for more money than what Ward would be able to pay too.

Ward's problem is he's unwilling to back-off his financial minimum which is around $2mill (I've heard rumors it's now higher as Roc Nation re-worked his contract). If he took a page from Golovkin's play-book, he could've had his two tune-ups on Fox in front of a larger audience and regained his momentum as a big name boxer.

I'm guessing the end of 2016, at which point Ward will want another tune-up instead because he hasn't fought in a year and a half.

Ward is one of the dirtiest fighters. He got 'elbow' lessons from Gord Howe!

Andre Ward is a great fighter, though. Only GGG and Kovalev beat Ward at 168-175.

Ward is smart for pretending Kovalev (the unified LHW champion) doesn't exist, though
im sure he wants ggg to move up first get that on resume and then kovalev...if he moves to 175 now he never gets the big fight with GGG

Kovalev has a better shot than ggg. I'm a ggg fan but he didn't impress me saturday. Ward eats ggg alive

ya i can see why people say kovolav name when people want ggg vs ward but honestly i think ggg ward now that pac may is on that is the best fight that can be made in all of boxing. were talking about the future most likely 1 and 2 p4p fighters

                      Agreed.

                      GGG vs.

                      Lee or Lemieux
                      Cotto or Canelo
                      Chavez Jr., Froch or Abraham

                      Ward vs.

                      Tuneup
                      Groves/DeGale/Stieglitz, etc.
                      Gilberto Ramirez

Then they can meet up at the end of next year.
