or 11 in that case, a half hour of fighting is enough to see who is better if someone is clearly the superior fighter.

You really want to sit and watch Floyd win a dominant pitty pay fest for longer than he does now? I usually wish he would take some chances and get rid of a guy after about the 6th rd.

I think only the heavyweight division would have a different look to it because of 15 rounds. The conditioning of the 240 pound athletes might not be there if they had to go another 3 rounds. If you look up some of the historic late ko's in fights the rounds 13 to 15 have produced Marciano vs Walcott I, Weaver vs Tate and Ali vs Bonavena. Guys like Shannon Briggs who were always on vapors by the 12th round would be a sitting duck in the 13th through 15th round.

They would know in advance of course. And to see how they would handle the 15-rounder would be interesting. Mayweather, Jones, Hopkins, Trinidad and many others never had to go 15. Doesn't mean we have to make the future of boxing suffer through not knowing whether their modern heroes could do it or how they would fare.

I would say the longer a fight goes, the more the two guys tend to settle down and fight rather than avoid each other. A lot of great fights turned in those last three rounds. It would be interesting to see how they played out.

There would be less urgency on the fighter's part I would think to get going and we could see an extra feel out rd or 2 since they have more time leading to the same thing we have now but just taking longer to get done.

Could be. I don't know though. There were lots of fast starts back when fights were 15. I think styles always make the fights. However the 15-round thing would not be a big deal after a few years of coming back. Once it got to be the mainstream again, I don't see anybody wanting it gone again.

I think it would give the term "Championship Rounds" more meaning. Of course, there are so many titles now. But hey. If nothing else, we could eliminate those incapable of going 15 and I truly believe there are several who can't since they have never had to.
