HELL BLEEPIN' YEAH THEY SHOULD RETURN!!!

No controversial draws, drama down the stretch, an extra "something" that make a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHT special!!

    HELL YES!!!

First of all all that crap about those last three rounds/9 minutes being more deadly that the preceding 12 rounds/36 minutes is complete and udder unsubstantiated, unsupportable rubbish!

I dare anyone to check out when in a fight the majority of ring fatalities occurred! The tragic case of Duk Ku Kim is damn near all there is. The majority of ring deaths....and this is before the sport got super sensitive to safety....occurred within TWELVE ROUNDS.

Don't believe me? Think I'm full of crap?!

    LOOK IT UP!.

I will be glad to list the names of the warriors who laid it all on the Lin (RIP EVERY ONE OF THEM); but the sport is suffering without the championship rounds in a championship fight just like its suffering for lack of one champion of the world in each division.

Debate all you want. I know I'm right on this. Not having those rounds is denying current and future greats respect they could earn and prove to the world that they ARE just as good as those "great fighters of old".

GIVE THE CHAMPIONS BACK THEIR ROUNDS!!!

    Peace, I'm out.

Great point. I think a lot of fans don't think the modern fighters can go 15 because they are never in 15 round fights. It will hurt the legacy of this era for sure.

Sugar Ray Robinson KO'd Jimmy Doyle in the 8th round. The latter died as a result. It was the first death in a world title fight.

Max Baer KO'd and killed Frankie Campbell in the 5th round.

TV schedules and commercials was the real reason behind the 12 round title fights, not fighter safety.

No, you would be thinking the same too during the 13th rd of an awkward stinker.

I doubt the sport would survive if it were 15 rounds in today's ocd society.

As far as safety concerns, looking at a list of boxing related deaths, most come from 10 rounds of action or less. Plenty of sparring related deaths too.

Exactly! 12 rounds is long enough.

People are so ****** about if modern fighters can go 15 rounds. That's like watching a guy run a world record mile and saying he couldnt go one more lap. Its called pacing. I'm not one to insult people but sometimes people just don't think.

Lets just make them fight in 14'x14' rings, with gloves that are 2 ounces lighter, and **** it..... let's make them fight 17 rounds. See exactly who wants to solidify their 'legacy' in the sport.
